We are an industry leader in heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with both domestic and international customers.\nPosition Summary\nThe Commissioning Engineer implements Check-out, Start-up and Commissioning strategies for HRSG equipment and appurtenance. Works closely with Central and Thermal Engineering to understand operational philosophy of all designs of HRSGs. This position strives to turn over to the customer a fully operational plant that satisfies both the customer and is profitable to Vogt Power International.\nEssential Functions/Responsibilities\nCold Commissioning:\nPerform walk-downs and check-out with P & ID’s.\nDevelop punch-list with responsibilities and completion dates assigned.\nNote: Upon satisfactory completion/acceptance of walk-down and proper turnover, the Technical Advisor is released.\nResponsible for testing and inspection of mechanical equipment supplied by VPI.\nResponsible to see that mechanical adjustments are made.\nWork with customers to verify VPI supplied instrumentation is operational.\nWork with customers to verify loop testing of VPI supplied controls is complete.\nWarm Commissioning:\nWork with customers and/or contractor during boil-out and/or acid cleaning and steam blows.\nResponsible for first instrument setting of VPI supplied equipment.\nVerify that all VPI supplied equipment is ready for initial operation and functional testing.\nMonitor VPI supplied equipment during reliability run.\nThe Commissioning Engineer works according to the project related O&M and training manuals.\nSupport Central Engineering department during performance testing.\nOther:\nPerform other duties as directed by the Director of Construction.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nRequirements\nBS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.\nMinimum five (5) years experience in the operation of multi-pressure level HRSGs with reheat. Training position is available for qualified candidates without the above experience. Training would be with another experienced Commissioning Engineer.\nExcellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.\nMust exhibit a broad understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics as they apply to the equipment supplied by Vogt Power International.\nMust be able to establish and maintain customer relationships at a high level.\nMust have or be able to obtain a valid passport and be willing to travel frequently and on short notice, including spending approximately 90% of the time on the road, working some weekends, completing multi-month assignments (often around 4 months), and occasionally performing multiple assignments back-to-back, primarily within the United States.\nTo provide greater transparency to candidates, we include base pay ranges for all US-based job postings that encompass all potential locations and levels for the open position.
