Our business is growing rapidly, and we're backed by leading investors including Y Combinator and founders of Dropbox, Instacart, Optimizely, and Gusto.\nFounding Marketing Lead\nLocation: San Francisco, CA (hybrid, in-office several days a week) · Type: Full-time · Reports to: CEO\nAbout the role\nWe're hiring our first marketer. You'll cultivate the Voicepanel brand in partnership with our founding team and bring it to life everywhere people meet us: online through content and social, and in person through events. From a LinkedIn post to an intimate dinner with research leaders, you'll shape how people experience Voicepanel.\nYour first and biggest focus will be in-person events: the conferences we attend and sponsor, and the dinners, happy hours, and gatherings we host. Alongside that, you'll own our brand and messaging and lead our content and social strategy with our CEO and Head of Research, the public voices of the company. As we grow, you'll also help guide our broader growth marketing, often alongside specialist consultants.\nWe're looking for someone scrappy and high-agency. You don't need to have done every part of this job before. If you've shown you can create great experiences and build a brand people remember, and you're comfortable figuring out the rest, we want to hear from you.\nWhat you'll own\nEvents (primary focus)\nBuild and run our events calendar across conferences, sponsorships, executive dinners, happy hours, workshops, and community meetups.\nDecide which industry events we attend, sponsor, or speak at, and negotiate sponsorships and vendor contracts.\nOwn every detail of in-person events: venues, guest lists, invitations, booth design, swag, run-of-show, logistics, and follow-up.\nHost Voicepanel-branded events in San Francisco and key markets that bring together research, product, and marketing leaders.\nProduce online events and webinars with our Head of Research and CEO, from topic and speakers to promotion and follow-up.\nPartner with sales to turn event attendance into real relationships and pipeline.\nBrand & messaging\nCultivate the Voicepanel brand with our founding team: who we are, how we sound, and what we stand for.\nMake sure every touchpoint feels unmistakably Voicepanel, from our website and sales materials to a booth, a dinner invite, or a webinar.\nSharpen our positioning and messaging for our core buyers in product, marketing, and research leadership.\nManage design and creative partners (freelance or agency) as needed.\nContent & social\nLead our social strategy in partnership with the CEO and Head of Research, including a content calendar and messaging plan.\nHelp our founders build their personal brands on LinkedIn and other channels with ghostwriting, editing, and amplification.\nTurn events, customer stories, and research insights into content across channels.\nGrowth marketing (nice to have)\nWork with specialist consultants and agencies to plan and execute our growth marketing.\nHelp lead SEO strategy and website content to grow our organic reach.\nRun paid campaigns across LinkedIn, search, and other channels within an assigned budget.\nTrack marketing performance in HubSpot and related tools, and shift time and budget toward what's working.\nWhat makes you a fit\nEvents pro: You've planned and run memorable in-person events, from intimate dinners to conference booths, and you sweat the details.\n\nBrand builder: You have taste, and you care how a company looks, sounds, and feels in every interaction.\n\nScrappy and high-agency: You get things done without a big team or a rigid playbook. Haven't done something before? You're comfortable figuring it out.\n\nGreat collaborator: You can partner closely with founders, translating their ideas into polished content and experiences.\n\nResults-minded: You care whether your work builds relationships and pipeline, not just buzz.\n\nAI-curious: You use AI tools to move faster and are excited to market an AI-native product.\n\nRequirements\n3-6 years of marketing experience, ideally in B2B, with significant hands-on event planning and execution.\nProven experience running conference presence, sponsorships, and hosted events end to end.\nExperience shaping brand, content, or social for a company or product.\nStrong project management skills; able to juggle multiple events and campaigns at once.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nBased in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work in our SF office on a hybrid schedule.\nAble to travel up to 20% of the time for conferences and events.\nBonus: experience with SEO, paid, or marketing analytics; at an early-stage startup; or marketing to research, product, or marketing audiences.\nDon't check every box?
