You will participate in the complete software lifecycle, from development and testing through deployment and ongoing production support.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy PHP-based web applications\nBuild and maintain front-end interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS\nWork with relational databases (MariaDB) to query, optimize, and manage large data sets\nWrite and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas\nDevelop and maintain applications using PHP frameworks (Phalcon preferred; Laravel or similar frameworks acceptable)\nUse Git for version control and collaborate within a team-based workflow\nWork in Docker-based development environments\nDeploy and support applications hosted in AWS\nPerform unit and functional testing and support production releases\nProvide ongoing application support by troubleshooting and resolving issues\nAccess and maintain Linux servers (RHEL 9) via SSH as needed\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nProven experience developing applications in PHP at an intermediate or advanced level\nStrong experience with PHP frameworks (Phalcon, Laravel, or comparable frameworks)\nSolid understanding of front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX)\nStrong experience working with relational databases, preferably MariaDB\nExperience using Git for source control\nFamiliarity with Linux-based systems and command-line tools\nAbility to follow best practices for clean code, security, and maintainability\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)\nAbility to obtain or currently hold a Public Trust clearance\nPreferred Skills & Experience\nExperience deploying and supporting applications in AWS environments\nFamiliarity with Docker for local development and deployment workflows\nExperience working on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 9) systems\nObject-oriented PHP development experience\nStrong understanding of PHP execution and request lifecycle\nAdvanced database skills, including query optimization and indexing\nFamiliarity with jQuery and related libraries (DataTables, etc..)\nExperience implementing authentication and authorization across systems\nUnderstanding of web application security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies\nKnowledge of accessibility standards and compliance requirements\nExperience designing scalable application architectures\nCompany Profile\nVolanno is a certified woman-owned small business headquartered in Washington, DC.
