We specialize in delivering innovative, customer-focused solutions through both piloted and remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) across industries including defense, infrastructure, energy, public safety, and logistics.\nPOSITION OVERVIEW\nWe are seeking a Lead Structures/Aero Engineer to own structural and aerodynamic design for a new aerospace platform, from concept through detailed design, build support, and certification.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead structural design and aerodynamic analysis for a new airframe from early concept through detailed design\nOwn structural substantiation, load analysis, and design trade studies for the platform\nDirect and review the work of supporting structures/aero engineers\nEstablish structural design standards, methods, and documentation practices for the program\nLead resolution of structural design issues identified during build, integration, or test\nRepresent structures/aero engineering in design reviews and certification milestone gates\nCoordinate with propulsion, systems integration, and manufacturing teams on structural interfaces\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATION\nBachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)\n7+ years of experience in aircraft structures or aerodynamics engineering, with leadership experience\nDemonstrated experience owning structural design for a platform from concept through certification\nProficiency with structural analysis (FEA) and CAD tools\nStrong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.\nCanadian Security Clearance is required\nPREFFERED QUALIFICATION\nExperience with composite and metallic airframe design for uncrewed aerial systems\nFamiliarity with aerospace certification standards (e.g., STANAG 4671, AEP-4671, or equivalent)\nExperience in cold-weather or extreme-environment platform design\nHOURS OF WORK AND WORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe position is an onsite role, and the Employee is required to perform their duties primarily at the Company’s designated workplace, as directed by the Company.\nThe standard work schedule consists of forty (40) hours per week, typically performed Monday to Friday, subject to operational requirements.\nFrom time to time, the Employee may be required to maintain reasonable flexibility in working hours to support operational needs, time-sensitive activities, or business priorities.\nWHY JOIN VOLATUS AEROSPACE\nA t Volatus Aerospace, you will be joining an innovative, fast-paced company with a strong commitment to customer success and industry advancement.
