Role Overview:

The UAV Instructor will deliver professional drone training programmes to individuals, emergency services personnel and corporate clients across a broad range of industries. The successful candidate will develop learners' operational, safety and technical competencies whilst ensuring compliance with current aviation regulations and our RAE (Recognised Assessment Entity) approval from UK CAA (Civil Aviation Authority).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver UAV training courses both in classrooms and live operational environments.
• Provide practical flight instruction for multirotor and fixed-wing platforms.
• Teach aviation safety, airspace awareness, mission planning and risk management.
• Deliver sector-specific applications including but not limited to:
  • Inspection and surveying
  • Infrastructure monitoring
  • Construction and engineering
  • Utilities
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Agriculture
  • Emergency response
  • Academia
• Support development of and produce new training materials and course content.
• Assess learner competency and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain training records and quality standards.
• Assist with demonstrations, exhibitions and client engagement activities.

• Work with our Media & Content Assistant to support video production and e-learning programmes.
• Support our Service Division as required by the business under the direction of the Director of Training & Remote Sensing.

• Stay current with aviation legislation, drone technologies and emerging industry trends.

Essential Requirements

• GVC, A2 CofC, CAA Operational Authorisation or equivalent qualifications
• Proven commercial UAV operational experience.
• Strong flying skills and operational decision-making.
• Experience delivering training, coaching or mentoring.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work with learners from varying backgrounds and experience levels.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to:
  • regularly travel throughout the UK to deliver various training courses.
  • support overseas training programmes both in person and vitual.

Desirable Requirements

• Teaching and/or assessor qualifications.
• Experience in infrastructure inspections.
• Remote sensing knowledge/experience.
• Experience working with corporate clients.

• Technical aptitude and experience with drone technology

Hours of Work, Work Environment, and Potential Travel

• The position is a hybrid role, and you may be required to work both onsite and in field environments as directed by the Company.
• The standard work schedule consists of 37.5 hours per week, typically performed Monday to Friday, subject to operational requirements.
• From time to time, you may be required to maintain reasonable flexibility in working hours to support operational needs, time-sensitive activities, or business priorities.
• Support overseas training programmes both in person and vitua
• This role may involve occasional travel within the UK as required to support training activities and business requirements.
