The role also addresses product concerns on prototype and pre-series vehicles during the launch phase to support quality and volume targets. This position is based in Pilot Hall - Production (Kariega)\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nEstablish root causes and implement corrective actions for allocated vehicle electronics problems.\nProvide specialised production support using Volkswagen diagnostic and analysis systems.\nTest, analyse and resolve vehicle harness, control-unit software and electronic faults on prototype and pre-series vehicles.\nCompile and present technical findings and reports at relevant forums.\nCoordinate cross-departmental teams focused on resolving vehicle electronics topics.\nLiaise with overseas counterparts on build and quality matters.\nDevelop, implement and manage vehicle electronics diagnostic and test equipment in the Pilot Hall workshop.\nSupport product-related concerns during pre-series and launch phases.\nContribute solutions that support production quality and volume targets\nMaintain effective communication and follow-through across multidisciplinary teams.\nREQUIREMENTS\nMinimum Qualifications:\nNational Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering (excluding Heavy Current), or a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics.\nEssential Experience & Competencies:\nMinimum 1 year experience in object-oriented programming, e.g. Python, C#, C++ or VB.\nKnowledge of vehicle electrical/electronic systems, including brakes, airbags and lighting.\nTechnical & Behavioral Competencies:\nRoot-cause problem-solving and corrective-action capability.\nAbility to contribute innovative solutions and ideas.\nClear communication and presentation skills, including to management.\nAbility to work under pressure and make sound decisions.\nProficiency in MS Office, including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.\nSound organisational and project management skills.\nAbility to work independently and in multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nPreferred: 3 years’ vehicle manufacturing/electronics experience; German; Python; Excel VBA; and vehicle diagnostic systems.\nNOTE\nPlease ensure that you upload:\nUpdated CV\nCertified copies of qualifications\nCertified copy of ID document\nImportant: Applications without all required documents and late applications will not be considered.\nIf you are a dynamic and proactive professional eager to contribute to Volkswagen Group Africa’s ongoing success, we encourage you to apply.\nReady to grow with us?
