The products help professional drivers and businesses move more safely and efficiently.\nWe are looking for a strong AQA Engineer to join an experienced team working on the client’s product ecosystem. The work covers the web platform and related services, with real-world impact on thousands of drivers and fleets across North America.\n\nThis is a lead role. Alongside your hands-on automation and testing work, you will lead the QA team within the company, mentor engineers, review their testing approach, and help establish consistent QA standards across projects. Leadership responsibilities will take up a small percentage of your overall workload, so you will remain closely involved in day-to-day QA and automation tasks.\n\nRequired experience/skills:\n\n4+ years of experience in software QA, including strong hands-on experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android;\n\nStrong experience with both manual and automated testing;\n\nHands-on experience designing, writing, and maintaining automated tests;\n\nStrong knowledge of Python and experience with pytest or similar test automation frameworks;\n\nAbility to write clean, maintainable, and reusable automation code;\n\nGood understanding of OOP principles and basic software architecture concepts;\n\nStrong understanding of test design techniques, exploratory testing, regression testing, and risk-based testing;\n\nExperience defining test strategy and selecting appropriate test coverage based on product and release risks;\n\nStrong REST API testing experience, including authentication, request/response validation, error handling, and API workflows;\n\nGood understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, JSON, authentication mechanisms, and client-server architecture;\n\nAbility to investigate issues using logs, API responses, browser/device debugging tools, and backend information;\n\nExperience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines;\n\nExperience with Git and modern CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps;\n\nExperience working with test management systems such as TestRail, Xray, Zephyr, or similar;\n\nExperience with Jira or similar issue-tracking systems;\n\nAbility to review requirements, identify gaps and ambiguities, challenge assumptions, and define test scenarios before development is completed;\n\nStrong understanding of release testing, regression strategy, defect prioritization, and production risk assessment;\n\nAbility to communicate quality risks clearly to developers, product managers, and customers;\n\nExperience using AI tools to support requirements analysis, test design, debugging, automation, or QA process improvement;\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills;\n\nUpper-Intermediate or higher English\n\nLeadership & Process Ownership:\n\nExperience improving or establishing QA processes at a project or company level;\n\nAbility to define minimum QA standards across multiple projects or teams;\n\nExperience mentoring QA engineers and reviewing their testing approach;\n\nAbility to evaluate QA effectiveness across multiple projects without micromanaging individual testers;\n\nExperience performing root-cause analysis for production defects and improving processes based on findings;\n\nAbility to balance quality, business priorities, delivery timelines, and release risks;\n\nExperience collaborating with engineering and product teams to introduce shift-left testing practices.\n\nWould be a plus:\n\nExperience with mobile UI automation;\n\nExperience with Playwright, Selenium, Appium, XCTest, Espresso, or similar tools;\n\nKnowledge of Docker;\n\nExperience testing applications with complex backend integrations;\n\nExperience with performance, security, or accessibility testing;\n\nExperience setting up automation infrastructure from scratch.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nAnalyze product requirements and identify risks, gaps, ambiguities, and edge cases before development is completed;\n\nDefine appropriate test strategy and coverage for new features and releases;\n\nPerform functional, exploratory, regression, integration, API, and mobile testing;\n\nCreate and maintain meaningful test documentation, including test cases, checklists, test plans, and regression suites where appropriate;\n\nDesign, implement, and maintain automated tests;\n\nIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor their reliability;\n\nInvestigate defects using logs, APIs, application behavior, and backend data;\n\nReport defects with clear reproduction steps, impact, severity, and supporting evidence;\n\nPerform root-cause analysis of escaped production defects and propose process improvements;\n\nAssess release quality and clearly communicate risks to the team;\n\nCollaborate closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and customers;\n\nContinuously improve
