These buses, which contribute to the city's traffic with empty seats, could also be the solution to its problem. Volt Lines is the only shuttle service provider that has both software as well as a transport service. This allows for optimal harmonization of the software and operation resulting in the creation of great experiences and services. Notable examples of these innovative services include DRT and Marketplace. DRT (short for Demand-Responsive Transport) was covered by a Harvard Business School case study that is being taught at the MBA school. Marketplace on the other hand allows companies to sell empty seats on their buses to neighboring passengers who are going in the same direction at the same time.\nLet's work together to shape the future of mobility.\nWe are looking for a talented Backend Engineer to join our team and contribute to building innovative solutions that enhance the future of transportation.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain server-side applications to support Volt Lines’ business objectives.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design new features.\nOptimize and improve existing backend architecture for performance and reliability.\nConduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of backend systems.\nStay updated with emerging technologies and integrate them into the development process.\nContribute to database design and management, ensuring data integrity and security.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.\n2+ years of experience in backend development with Python.\nStrong working experience with Django and Django REST Framework.\nSolid experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs\nProduction experience with PostgreSQL; schema design, query optimization, migrations on live systems.\nWorking experience with Redis for caching and Celery for asynchronous task processing.\nFamiliarity with Kafka or similar event streaming systems\nExperience with Git-based workflows, code review culture, and writing meaningful tests for your own code.\nUnderstanding of containerization with Docker and orchestration basics with Kubernetes.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills in English.\nNice to Have\nHands-on experience with AWS services;
