VolvoCars.com supports public customer journeys, while retailer websites is inclusive of but not limited to supporting inventory, dealer and collision-center location, lead forms, and the platforms and integrations that connect customers with retailers.\nAs a Software Engineer, Full Stack Web, you work as part of one engineering team across regional and global partners to build secure, reliable, accessible, and scalable web products. You contribute hands-on development across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, and supporting delivery pipelines.\nYou are responsible for delivering well-designed, tested, and maintainable software across our web products. You work independently on well-defined features, collaborate with senior engineers on larger technical designs, participate in code reviews, and contribute to improvements in software quality, reliability, developer experience, and deployment velocity.\nBecause the role contributes from discovery through production support, you are expected to understand both the customer and business needs and the technical requirements of your work. This includes customer journeys, web architecture, APIs, cloud services, data flows, third-party integrations, security, accessibility, and operational dependencies within your scope.\nWhat you'll do\nBuild Full-Stack Web Experiences\nDevelop and maintain customer and retailer web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, APIs, databases, and cloud services.\nTranslate product, UX, and business requirements into accessible, responsive, performant, and maintainable web experiences.\nBuild reusable frontend components, backend services, integrations, and API contracts that support web capabilities across the Americas.\nParticipate in technical design, estimation, implementation planning, code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.\nDeliver Quality Products with Speed and Accountability\nOwn assigned engineering work across the delivery lifecycle, from refinement and implementation through testing, deployment, production support, and iterative improvement.\nEnsure features are reviewed, tested, documented, secure, observable, and production-ready before release.\nUse automated testing, CI/CD, feature flags, security scanning, and operational-readiness practices to improve quality and deployment velocity.\nIdentify delivery risks, dependencies, incidents, and technical debt early, and take action with the team to protect timelines and customer experience.\nSupport modernization and the retirement of redundant or legacy web-platform capabilities.\nCollaborate as One Regional and Global Team\nWork closely with engineering, product, UX, QA, analytics, security, accessibility, data, retailer, platform, and global stakeholders to clarify scope, ownership, priorities, and release expectations.\nContribute to technical design reviews and communicate progress, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to engineering leads and cross-functional partners.\nCoordinate with shared platform teams, Salesforce, mobile, data, and external suppliers when products depend on common services or integrations.\nIdentify ownership gaps, integration issues, and duplicated capabilities, and help implement practical solutions that improve maintainability and delivery.\nMaintain useful technical documentation, runbooks, implementation notes, and onboarding materials.\nSupport production troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.\nProvide Technical and Operational Ownership\nApply sound engineering judgment across modern full-stack web systems, including React, TypeScript, Node.js, APIs, databases, cloud services, caching, observability, and automated delivery pipelines.\nMake implementation decisions with attention to scalability, resilience, performance, maintainability, cost, security, accessibility, and customer impact.\nUse production, quality, and flow data to improve reliability, developer experience, and delivery effectiveness.\nContribute through constructive feedback, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of junior engineers when appropriate.\nWhat you'll bring\nA minimum of 3 years of professional software-engineering experience, including hands-on experience building and maintaining full-stack web applications in a collaborative product environment.\nPractical experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, APIs, databases, automated testing, CI/CD, Git workflows, and production troubleshooting.\nWorking knowledge of web architecture, distributed systems, cloud platforms, security, accessibility, observability, and operational support practices.\nAbility to independently deliver well-defined engineering work while collaborating effectively across product, design, QA, platform, security, and business teams.\nStrong analytical judgment, problem-solving, decision-making, and written and verbal communication skills.\nExperience in automotive digital commerce, retailer systems, inventory, lead management, customer web journeys, or a comparable enterprise digital-product environment is preferred.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.\nSalary Range\n$105,525 to $182,091\nCompensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, location and company
