We are now looking for a Cost Engineer within Electrical & Electronics (E&E) to join our Product Finance organization.\nIn this role, you will combine technical expertise with business acumen to influence product development, sourcing strategies, and commercial decisions. You will work at the forefront of emerging technologies, supporting the development of future truck, bus, and power solutions while ensuring value-driven purchasing decisions.\nWhat You Will Do\nAs a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for estimating part costs and tooling investments for both new product development and existing products. You will support development teams from the earliest concept phase through sourcing and implementation, helping to drive cost-efficient design and manufacturing decisions.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nEstimating costs for components and systems within the Electrical & Electronics area, including wiring harnesses, alternators, starter motors, and other electrical and electronic products.\nPerforming cost target setting, cost breakdowns, and manufacturing process analysis based on technical documentation, CAD data, drawings, and physical components.\nSupporting engineering teams with cost estimates and analyses to guide product and design decisions.\nProviding fact-based cost models and negotiation support to purchasing teams.\nContributing expertise to strategic business cases, cost workshops, benchmarking activities, and teardowns.\nSupporting change management activities by assessing the impact of engineering changes on product and tooling costs.\nCollaborating closely with purchasing, engineering, project management, module management, and colleagues across Product Finance.\nVisiting supplier manufacturing sites to discuss production methods, cost drivers, investments, and manufacturing efficiency.\nThe role offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into future technologies and contribute to innovative solutions within a rapidly evolving technical landscape.\nWho Are You?\nWe are looking for someone who combines strong technical competence with analytical thinking and commercial understanding.\nYou likely have expertise in one or more of the following areas:\nElectrical systems / Electronics / Electromechanics\nWiring and wiring harnesses\nManufacturing and production processes\nAdditionally, we believe you have:\nB.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.\nExperience from product development, manufacturing engineering, maintenance engineering, sales engineering, or related technical fields.\nExperience within the automotive industry, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.\nA structured and analytical approach to problem solving.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at different levels.\nFluency in English, both written and spoken.\nExperience in any of the following areas is considered an advantage:\nCost engineering or cost calculations\nCAD tools\nFinancial analysis\nLean manufacturing methodologies\nWhat Will Make You Successful?\nAs a person, you are curious, open-minded, and eager to continuously learn.
