Administered under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 (amended in 1973), this program at Volvo Group offers engineering graduates and diploma holders a structured, 1-year practical, hands-on On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunity to build industry-ready capabilities.\nWhat you will do?\nGraduate Apprentice Trainee will support the Health & Safety team in implementing workplace safety programs, monitoring compliance with statutory requirements, conducting inspections, promoting safety culture, and assisting in risk reduction activities. The trainee will gain practical exposure to industrial safety management systems and regulatory compliance.\nKey responsibilities\n1. Safety Inspections & Monitoring\nAssist in conducting daily workplace safety inspections.\nIdentify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and near-miss incidents.\nSupport closure of corrective and preventive actions.\nParticipate in departmental safety audits.\nMonitor housekeeping standards across the facility.\nVerify compliance with safety procedures and work instructions.\n2. Risk Assessment Activities\nAssist in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Risk Assessments.\nSupport hazard identification exercises with stakeholders\nParticipate in process risk assessments and workplace surveys.\nAssist in developing risk control measures.\nMaintain risk assessment records and documentation.\nWeekly Risk assessment & Unsafe conditions report\n3. Safety Training & Awareness\nAssist in organizing safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.\nSupport in conducting Safety training and safety briefings.\nParticipate in National Safety Month activities.\nAssist in preparation of safety presentations and awareness materials.\nCoordinate safety campaigns and competitions.\n4. Incident Reporting & Investigation\nAssist in reporting accidents, incidents, and near misses.\nParticipate in incident investigations.\nCollect evidence and witness statements.\nPrepare preliminary investigation reports.\nTrack implementation of corrective actions.\n5. Emergency Preparedness & Response\nSupport Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities.\nParticipate in mock drills.\nInspect emergency equipment such as:\nFire extinguishers\nFire hydrants\nEmergency exits\nEyewash stations\nSpill kits\nAssist in updating emergency response plans. \n6. Statutory Compliance Support\nAssist in maintaining compliance records under applicable laws:\nFactories Act\nState Factory Rules\nOccupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSHWC) Code\nFire Safety Regulations\nSupport regulatory inspections and audits.\n7. Safety Committee Support\nParticipate in Safety Committee meetings.\nRecord meeting minutes.\nFollow up on action items.\nAssist in implementing committee recommendations.\n8.
