This team’s goal is to contribute to your development, as well as providing an opportunity to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry.\nWhat you will do\nKey Responsibilities\nDrive lean methodology\nData collection and analysis focus on standards and repeatability of current\nVideo analysis of current process to analyze 3Ms (Muri, Mura and Muda)\nAssist line balancing projects\nWork with other departments to implement product and process changes.\nSupport training session of Lean Manufacturing tools.\nParticipate in project planning, implementation and improvements\nWorks FI (Focus Improvement) Owner to promote the Culture of Continuous Improvement\nSupport 5S activities\nAssist kaizens on the organization (assembly lines, logistic areas and quality area)\nAssist in Kaizen weeks\nAssist in follow-up, reports and flow charts.\nParticipate in functional meetings.\nGood attitude & continuous improvement mindset are critical to performing daily activities in this Lean Manufacture\nCritical Competencies\nAttention to Detail: Provide accurate data and reports that are pertinent to the team’s tasks.\nTeamwork: Building cooperation among individuals and departments, sharing information and resources, and working to achieve group goals and outcomes.\nCommunication: Listen effectively, transmit information accurately and understandably, and actively seek feedback from experienced engineers, project manager, etc.\nDependability/Reliability: Follow through on commitments, timely delivery on projects, assigned tasks, etc.\nFlexibility: Willing to perform a wide range of tasks, positive responds to changes in direction and priorities, and acceptance of new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.\nWho are you?\nMinimum Education and Program Requirements\n- Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Engineering: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering.\n- Applicants must have completed 30 semester hours before the internship starts and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.\n- Interns may work up to 30 hours per week.\n- Strong communication skills.\n- Valid US Work authorization.\nPersonal Competencies\nCustomer Focus\nTechnical Skills\nPeer Relationships\nIntegrity and Trust\nStanding Alone\nAction Oriented\nPerseverance\nAt the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
