Drive Continuous Improvement.\nVolvo Trucks North America’s New River Valley (NRV) Plant, located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, is looking for an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join our team.\nAs the largest plant in the Volvo Group globally, the NRV Plant is at the heart of Volvo Trucks’ North American manufacturing operations. With more than 2 million square feet under roof across a 550+ acre site, the plant produces 100% of the Volvo trucks built for the North American market. As part of a global organization, you’ll have opportunities to collaborate across Volvo sites and share knowledge, technology and best practices around the world.\nWhat you will do\nAs a Logistics Supervisor, you will lead the people and processes responsible for keeping materials flowing safely and efficiently through the manufacturing operation.\nYou will oversee material planning, inventory control, storage, shipping and receiving activities while ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support production. You’ll lead a team of material handling professionals, drive operational performance and partner closely with Production, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Maintenance and other functions to prevent disruptions and keep the plant running.\nResponsibilities\nLead, coach and develop a team of material handling professionals, setting clear expectations and building a culture of safety, accountability and engagement.\nOversee material flow, inventory control, storage, shipping and receiving activities to support efficient production.\nEnsure materials are accurately allocated, identified, organized and available when needed.\nMonitor inventory transactions and resolve discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.\nIdentify and communicate potential material shortages and work proactively to prevent production disruptions.\nPartner with Production, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Maintenance and other Logistics teams to resolve issues and keep operations moving.\nOptimize staffing, processes and resources to maximize productivity and meet departmental goals.\nDrive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery and efficiency.\nMaintain high standards for housekeeping, organization, safety and compliance within the area.\nUse operational data and performance metrics to identify opportunities, solve problems and drive sustainable results.\nWho are you?\nBachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business or a related field strongly preferred.\n4+ years of logistics experience.\nDemonstrated experience leading and developing teams in a logistics, manufacturing or production environment.\nStrong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.\nExperience with Power BI or other tools used to monitor and communicate key performance indicators is a plus.\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing and/or continuous improvement preferred.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond calmly to changing priorities.\nWhat’s in it for you?\nAt Volvo Trucks, you’ll have the opportunity to make an impact at a global leader in transportation while working alongside people who are passionate about what they do. For this position, the base pay is set at $83,500 - $103,500 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
