If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.\nWhat you will do\nResponsible for developing, industrializing, stabilizing and continuously improving BIW manufacturing processes for truck cabs, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, cost competitiveness and timely delivery of new products.\nThe role will work closely with Product Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Tooling, Automation, Industrial Engineering and Suppliers to establish robust BIW processes from concept through SOP and volume production.\nKey Responsibilities\nBIW Process Engineering\nDevelop manufacturing processes and operation sequences for truck cab BIW.\nDefine welding, joining, assembly and inspection processes.\nPrepare and maintain Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan and Standard Work.\nEstablish optimum process parameters and ensure process capability.\nIdentify and eliminate process bottlenecks and sources of variation.\nBIW Welding & Joining\nDevelop and optimize spot welding, MIG welding, stud welding, riveting and other joining processes.\nDefine welding parameters and ensure consistent weld quality.\nResolve welding defects such as missing welds, spatter, burn-through, distortion and weak welds.\nImprove welding productivity, quality and process reliability.\nFixtures, Tooling & Equipment\nDevelop concepts and specifications for BIW fixtures, jigs, gauges and tooling.\nReview fixture designs for datum strategy, locating, clamping, accessibility, ergonomics and fool-proofing.\nParticipate in tooling design reviews, trials, buy-off and commissioning.\nEnsure tooling capability meets dimensional and production requirements.\nIndustrialization & Continuous Improvement\nNew Product Introduction / Industrialization\nLead BIW manufacturing activities for new truck/cab programs.\nReview product designs with manufacturability perspectives.\nCoordinate prototype, pilot and pre-production builds.\nLead tooling and equipment readiness activities.\nEnsure BIW manufacturing readiness against project milestones.\nSupport successful SOP and production ramp-up.\nAutomation & Industry 4.0\nIdentify opportunities for automation and semi-automation.\nSupport implementation of:Robotic welding\nAutomated material handling\nVision systems\nSensors and process monitoring\nError-proofing / Poka-Yoke\nTraceability systems\n\nDrive digitalization and data-based process improvement.\nProductivity & Continuous Improvement\nDrive improvements in:\nCycle time study\nLine balancing\nProcess efficiency\nEnergy consumption\nProcess reliability\nApply Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, VSM, TPM and structured problem-solving to eliminate waste and improve process performance.\nProduction & Quality Support\nProvide technical support to BIW production for daily manufacturing issues.\nResolve chronic process and dimensional problems.\nConduct shop-floor process audits.\nEnsure adherence to standard processes and parameters.\nDrive reduction in welding defects, dimensional defects, rework and scrap.\nSupport internal/customer quality audits.\nImplement effective Poka-Yoke and process controls.\nSupplier & Project Management\nCoordinate with fixture, tooling, automation and equipment suppliers.\nReview supplier technical proposals and designs.\nParticipate in FAT, SAT, trials and commissioning.\nMonitor supplier activities against project milestones.\nEnsure timely delivery of tooling and process equipment.\nCompetencies & skills\nTechnical Competencies\nEssential:\nBIW manufacturing and assembly processes\nTruck cab / sheet-metal manufacturing\nSpot and MIG welding\nBIW fixtures, jigs, gauges and tooling\nGD&T and dimensional control\nBIW geometry and variation management\nPFMEA, Control Plan and Process Flow\nRoot Cause Analysis\nLine balancing and capacity planning\nLean Manufacturing / Kaizen\nPreferred:\nRobotic welding and automation\nIndustry 4.0 / smart manufacturing\nCAD interpretation - CATIA / NX / AutoCAD\nStatistical Process Control\nExperience with automated BIW lines\nQualification & Experience\nEducation:\nB.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile or Industrial Engineering\nExperience:\nTypically 8-10 years of relevant BIW / Process Engineering experience, preferably in Commercial Vehicle manufacturing\nExperience in truck cab BIW, new model industrialization, robotic welding and fixture development.\nLocation : Hoskote\nWe value your data privacy and therefore do not accept applications via mail.\nWho we are and what we believe in\nWe are committed to shaping the future landscape of efficient, safe, and sustainable transport solutions.
