You will:\nPurpose of the Role:\nTo provide technical support to the sales function to ensure product suitability and optimized production and delivery processes to support business objectives.\nReporting: This position reports to Senior Manager Product Support.\nJob Objectives:\nTechnically supporting product and sales teams in (VGSA) Volvo Group Southern Africa to ensure that local product offers align with Volvo Trucks strategies as well as market expectations and operating conditions. \nDevelop specifications for new product offering in line with legal requirements.\nSupporting internal VGSA organization with product, segment, unique specifications, Product performance, new projects, and industry knowledge\nSupport the Sales Team with specialized configurations.\nLiaison with internal and external stakeholders.\nLiaison with Pro builder regarding market requests and changes.\nManage introduction of local Customer Adaptation solutions to Volvo International Manufacturing Durban Plant and recommend discontinuation where necessary.\nChecking of configurations for confirmed deals before order planning.\nManage order book quality, monitor production slots, ordering and co-ordination of orders and order changes with (International Manufacturing Durban Plant & Technical Sales Support Centre).\nManage input of technical information on marketing material.\nIdentify new homologation requirements for incoming orders.\nManage Transport and Vessel Bookings CBU orders.\nProvide Product & Systems training to VGSA & Africa .\nCommunicate updates & restrictions.\nSupport marketing on events.\nDevelop and/or update processes, procedures, and work instructions.\nWho are you?\nDo you dream big? In this role, you will bring:\nQualification & Job Experience:\nNational Diploma in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering.\nMinimum of 5 years of technical post-qualification experience in the automotive industry (essential). \nExposure to heavy vehicles and their components.\nKey Competencies\nGood understanding of Automotive market developments.\nAutomotive and vehicle application knowledge. \nVehicle legislation application.\nHeavy automotive technical knowledge (essential; intermediate).\nSystems and processes (essential; intermediate).\nComputer literacy - (essential; intermediate level).\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills.\nCommunication skills (oral, written).\nInterpersonal skills (networking; conflict handling).\nShort listed candidates must complete and sign personal verification permission, consent and indemnity declarations, to inter alia perform reference, criminal, credit, qualification, vetting process (if applicable to position) and any other checks deemed necessary.\nVolvo Group Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd is an affirmative action, equal employment opportunity employer.
