If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.\nWhat you will do\nThe position is responsible for managing all the purchasing activities within the product development and industrialization projects and responsible for representing purchasing in the corporate cross-functional project team. It is also responsible for the design, communication and implementation of an operational plan for completing the purchasing portion of the project and to monitor progress and performance against its plan.\nCore Responsibilities:\nAchievement of all purchasing targets (KPI’s) for projects in accordance with DVP.\nManage all project activities within Mack Defense purchasing related to his/her projects.\nPro-actively plan purchasing activities well in advance of gates.\nSet up and manage the purchasing project plan including the resolution of corrective actions.\nEstablish and maintain the supplier tooling budget and material cost within his/her projects.\nPrepare the purchasing contract at the FDC gate.\nEnsure project communication to the line Purchasing organization.\nEnsure full utilization of GPS.\nEstablish the activities in order to meet the results and deliverables in accordance with the commodities.\nDevelops project plans and schedules.\nMonitors project costs and timelines; ensures project stays on track and within budget.\nMonitors and reports on progress of the project to all stakeholders.\nImplements and manages project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.\nPrepares and presents reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.\nConducts project meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project within the project team and to the Steering Committee.\nLiaises with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.\nResponsible for implementing robust risk management processes for the project.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWho are you?\nCritical Competencies:\nSelf-Starter\nWorks independently with minimal supervision\nEnsures accountability\nEffective communication skills\nAction oriented\nStrategic mindset\nPlans and executes\nCollaborative\nInnovative\nMetric driven\nFocused\nRelationship building\nProblem-solving\nNegotiation abilities\nTechnology\nSupplier performance management\nRisk management\nMinimum Education and Experience:\nBachelor Degree preferred.\n10+ years of purchasing, supplier management experience preferably in the automotive, commercial truck or related industries preferred.\n5+ years of project management experience.\nPMP Certification desired.\nExperience in government and/or defense contracting is preferred.\nDemonstrated knowledge and experience with the use of project management methodologies.\nDemonstrated knowledge of typical purchasing procurement software, data analysis tools and emerging technology, i.e. artificial intelligence.\nDemonstrated knowledge of supplier negotiations and establishing supplier agreements.\nDemonstrated knowledge of working in a cross-functional product design and manufacturing environment.\nUse of Data Analytics a plus.\nAbility to meet physical demands while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required, with or without accommodation to:\nStand, walk, or sit, sometimes for prolonged periods.\nAbility to be in the office 5 days/40 hours per week.\nSee, speak, and hear, including distinguishing visual and audible signals necessary for safe and effective communication.\nUse hands or fingers to operate computers, tablets, mobile devices.\nReach with hands and arms to access products, tools, and controls.\nLift, move, or carry up to fifteen (15) pounds unassisted.\nHave stamina for some long days, and occasional extended hours.\nWork in various settings various office environments.\nOccasional travel including overnight stays.\nAt the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $111,100.00 - $137,200.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
