As a Staff Engineer, you will be a technical anchor for the team, shaping the architecture of our cloud-native platform and influencing engineering culture across the group.\nWhat You Will Do\nProvide technical leadership and vision for the design and development of highly concurrent, distributed backend systems;\nDrive and own significant architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability and maintainability across the platform;\nLead performance optimisation initiatives and resolve the most complex system-level challenges;\nSet the standard for testing practices, including Unit, Integration and Smoke tests, enabling fully automated promotion of code to production;\nDefine, evolve and enforce coding standards and engineering best practices across the team;\nAct as a technical mentor and leader, supporting the growth of engineers at all levels;\nCollaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to align technical strategy with business goals;\nProvide out-of-hours support as part of an on-call rota.\nWhat You Will Bring\nEssential:\nExtensive programming experience in Go (Golang) or deep expertise in JVM technologies (Java/Spring Boot) with a strong commitment to adopting Go;\nExtensive, proven experience developing and maintaining enterprise-grade systems at scale;\nDeep expertise in highly concurrent, distributed architectures and systems;\nExtensive experience leading and owning architectural decisions at team and cross-team level;\nPrior experience as a Team Lead or Tech Lead, with a track record of mentoring and growing engineering talent;\nExperience with containerised applications and cloud-native infrastructure;\nExpert-level performance profiling and optimisation skills;\nDeep experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redis);\nExceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nNice to Have:\nDeep hands-on experience with AWS (SQS, SNS, DynamoDB), Kafka, Kubernetes or Terraform;\nExperience driving Continuous Delivery practices in cloud environments;\nGeneral understanding of the telecommunications industry.\nHow you’ll benefit:\nMedical Insurance (Allianz)\nLife Insurance (Uniqa)\nGlasses Reimbursement\nKafeteria (My Benefit)\nDiscretionary Time Off (DTO)\nVolunteer Time (VTO)\nEricsson Care Line\nThere’s no perfect candidate.
