You will be responsible for originating new projects and leading complex dealmaking processes from first contact to a signed contract or ready-to-build project.\n\nYour primary goal is to originate new projects globally and act as a savvy dealmaker, building long-term partnerships with local developers to successfully bring BESS projects to life.\n\nYou will be based in our BESS headquarters in Breda. Regular international travel is an important part of the role to identify opportunities and develop a local network.\n\nWhat will you be doing?\n\n Project & Asset Expansion: Drive the development and investment in large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems in new geographies through partnerships, M&A, greenfield developments and potential brownfield developments at existing Vopak terminals.\n\n Origination & Dealmaking: Originate new business in the energy storage space across target regions and lead complex deal processes from the first contact all the way to a signed deal.\n\n Strategic Partnerships: Build and grow strong partnerships with utilities, developers, and industrial clients to ensure we enter new markets at the right time and with the right proposition.\n\n Cross-Cultural Alignment: Navigate international markets and regulatory backgrounds, adapting to diverse cultural contexts to secure sustainable energy projects globally.\n\nWhy you’ll love working with us\n\n Being part of an ambitious and entrepreneurial team\n\n Bonus opportunity\n\n Travel allowance\n\n Hybrid working opportunity, with an office immediately next to Breda train station\n\n 25 holidays on an annual basis\n\n Attractive pension scheme\n\n We will continuously invest in your personal growth, and future career path within Green Energy Storage and Vopak\n\nDoes this sound like you?\n\n Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a similarly relevant field.\n\n 10+ years of business development or commercial experience, specifically with international sustainable energy projects (e.g., Solar, Independent Power Producer, or Battery Storage).\n\n Deep understanding of power markets and the challenges of the energy transition.\n\n Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.\n\n Strong ability to connect with and adapt to different cultural backgrounds.\n\n Entrepreneurial mindset and a results-driven approach to building purpose-driven companies.\n\n Track record in leading complex transactions, potentially with a background in venture capital or investment.\n\n Fluency in English and Dutch.\n\n Expectation and willingness for frequent international travel for business development and partnership alignment.\n\nDon’t meet all our criteria?
