We believe in working smart, with strong focus and intensity, tackling every challenge as a team.\nYour work\nOwn the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend APIs and related infrastructure using FastAPI, Flask, and Postgres.\nDesign and optimise backend architecture on AWS, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.\nChampion CI/CD best practices and automated testing pipelines with GitLab CI/CD to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.\nCollaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and data teams to deliver robust backend solutions that power analytics, product features, and decision-making.\nMentor and support fellow engineers in building scalable, maintainable, and well-tested systems.\nContinuously influence and improve the team’s engineering practices, tools, and workflow.\nRequirements\nBasic requirements\n5+ years of experience designing and building backend systems, APIs, or services.\nHands-on experience with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) and relational databases (Postgres).\nProven ability to deploy and maintain applications in AWS environments.\nStrong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control (GitLab/Git workflows).\nExperience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerised application deployment.\nWorks collaboratively and values team success over individual credit.\nThrives in cross-functional teams and enjoys helping others succeed.\nHighly organised, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-moving environment.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nBonus points\nExperience with frontend frameworks, particularly Next.js.\nKnowledge of MLOps practices and tools.\nExperience with embeddings, vector databases, hybrid search, chunking, reranking, tool-calling, and source-grounded LLM answers. \nBackground in data engineering, including building or interacting with data pipelines or analytics systems.\nKnowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform).\nExposure to monitoring, observability, and performance optimisation for backend services.\nPassion for self-learning and personal growth, continuously improving skills and keeping up with new technologies.\nBenefits\nWhat we offer\nJoin a team of exceptional talent - At ZYTLYN, we hire thoughtfully and selectively, bringing together a small, focused team of high performers.
