This program offers university students hands-on experience through project-based work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Throughout the program, Interns will have exposure to mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.\nThe Mechanical Engineer intern will support Voyager Technologies at one of the following locations:\nSan Diego, CA\nFolsom, CA\nReno, NV\nLong Beach, CA\nPittsburgh, PA\nThe Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the engineering team with a variety of activities related to mechanical design, development, analysis, testing, and documentation. The intern will have the opportunity to apply engineering principles to real-world projects while collaborating with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.\nAdditional responsibilities include:\nAssist with mechanical design, development, and analysis activities for assigned projects.\nSupport the development, review, and documentation of mechanical models, drawings, specifications, and other engineering artifacts.\nAssist with defining, documenting, and tracking engineering requirements.\nParticipate in trade studies and evaluation of design concepts to support engineering decisions.\nSupport the development of test approaches, fixtures, tooling, and other hardware or processes needed for engineering activities.\nParticipate in testing and evaluation activities as appropriate, including collecting, analyzing, and presenting engineering data.\nCollaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams as needed.\nAssist with documenting mechanical interfaces and communicating technical information across teams.\nContribute to identifying opportunities for design, process, and operational improvements.\nParticipate in engineering reviews, team meetings, training sessions, and other learning opportunities.\nComplete assigned projects and deliverables accurately and within established timelines.\nRequirements\nCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, preferably pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.\nSolid understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles and design methodology.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.\nStrong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.\nAbility to learn and apply new engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.\nFamiliarity with mechanical design or CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) preferred.\nAbility to travel for in-person orientation and program kickoff, as well as for the final presentation at program completion.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious internship, coursework, academic project, or other relevant experience related to mechanical engineering.\nExperience with CAD, mechanical design, engineering analysis, prototyping, testing, or manufacturing.\nFamiliarity with engineering drawings, technical documentation, or requirements.\nHands-on experience with laboratory, fabrication, testing, or other engineering activities.\nHourly Pay Range: $23.50-$30.00 per hour\n*Hourly rate determined by academic year, college major, line of business, geography\nPlease click “Apply” to submit your application.\nTo conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.\nVoyager is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
