This program offers university students hands-on experience through project-based work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Throughout the program, Interns will have exposure to mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.\nThe Software Engineer intern will support Voyager Technologies at one of the following locations:\nSan Diego, CA\nEl Segundo, CA\nFolsom, CA\nReno, NV\nLong Beach, CA\nPittsburgh, PA\nHouston, TX\nThe Software Engineering Intern will support the engineering team with a variety of activities related to software development, testing, integration, and technical documentation. This internship provides an opportunity to apply software engineering principles to real-world projects while collaborating with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.\nThe intern may contribute to projects involving software development, application or service development, automation, data systems, APIs, testing, or other software engineering initiatives based on current business and engineering priorities.\nResponsibilities\nAssist with designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software for assigned projects.\nLearn and work with existing software systems, codebases, APIs, databases, and development tools as appropriate.\nContribute to the development and implementation of software features, tools, services, or applications.\nAssist with integrating software components and validating functionality through testing and debugging.\nDevelop and execute test cases or other methods to verify software meets defined requirements.\nParticipate in troubleshooting and resolving software issues.\nDocument technical designs, implementation approaches, testing activities, and integration steps.\nCollaborate with software, systems, engineering, and other cross-functional teams as needed.\nParticipate in code reviews, team meetings, technical discussions, training sessions, and other learning opportunities.\nContribute ideas for improving software functionality, development processes, and team efficiency.\nComplete assigned projects and deliverables accurately and within established timelines.\nRequirements\nCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, preferably pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\nDemonstrated understanding of fundamental software engineering and programming concepts.\nProficiency in at least one programming language.\nFamiliarity with software development principles, APIs, databases, or related technologies.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.\nStrong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.\nAbility to learn and apply new programming languages, technologies, tools, and development environments.\nAbility to travel for in-person orientation and program kickoff, as well as for the final presentation at program completion.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious internship, coursework, academic project, or other relevant software engineering experience.\nExperience developing software applications, services, scripts, or automation tools.\nFamiliarity with version control systems such as Git.\nExperience working with APIs, databases, cloud technologies, or software development frameworks.\nExposure to software testing, debugging, or continuous integration/deployment practices.\nFamiliarity with AI/ML, data processing, embedded software, or other specialized technologies is a plus, depending on project needs.\nHourly Pay Range: $23.50-$30.00 per hour\n*Hourly rate determined by academic year, college major, line of business, geography\nPlease click “Apply” to submit your application.\nTo conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.\nVoyager is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
