This role bridges traditional scripting and infrastructure automation with modern AI-driven tooling, building systems that act, adapt, and scale with minimal human intervention.\nThe ideal candidate brings deep experience in process automation, scripting, and workflow orchestration, and is actively exploring or applying AI and agentic technologies to solve real operational problems. The ideal candidate brings specific experience working within highly regulated manufacturing industries. supporting data operations. \nKey Responsibilities\nProcess & IT Automation\nIdentify, design, and implement automation solutions for repetitive IT and business processes across the organization.\nBuild and maintain automation scripts and workflows using Python and PowerShell, targeting infrastructure management, data movement, reporting, and operational tasks.\nDevelop and manage RPA (robotic process automation) workflows for business process automation where applicable.\nIntegrate automation solutions with enterprise platforms including Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party SaaS applications via APIs and connectors.\nDocument all automation solutions including design rationale, dependencies, failure modes, and runbooks.\nAI & Agentic Workflow Development\nLead the evaluation and adoption of AI-powered automation tools, agentic frameworks, and large language model integrations within the organization.\nDesign and deploy agentic workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or similar, enabling systems to reason, plan, and execute multi-step tasks autonomously.\nIntegrate AI capabilities into existing operational workflows to reduce manual decision-making and accelerate throughput.\nCollaborate with business stakeholders to identify high-value AI automation opportunities and translate them into production-ready solutions.\nEvaluate and recommend AI tooling, platforms, and vendors in alignment with organizational security and compliance requirements.\nStay current on emerging agentic AI patterns, model capabilities, and automation frameworks; bring new approaches to the team proactively.\nWorkflow Orchestration & Integration\nDesign and manage end-to-end workflow orchestration using tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate, or similar platforms.\nBuild robust API integrations and event-driven automation pipelines across cloud and on-premises systems.\nImplement error handling, retry logic, alerting, and observability for all automated workflows to ensure reliability and visibility.\nMaintain and extend automation libraries and reusable components for use across teams.\nInfrastructure & DevOps Automation\nAutomate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for automated testing and deployment of automation artifacts.\nDevelop self-service automation tooling that enables non-engineers to trigger and monitor complex workflows safely.\nSupport cloud operations automation across Azure Government and AWS GovCloud environments.\nMonitoring, Optimization & Support\nMonitor automation health, execution logs, and failure rates;
