We’re a company of doers, thinkers and builders, united by purpose and grounded in reality. \nIf you want to put your skills to work where the stakes are real and the mission is bigger than any one person,forge the future with Voyager. \nThe FPGA Engineer for our Products line is responsible for assisting in the design of cutting-edge components for space and national security applications including Software Defined Radios, Digital Processing Systems, Space Rated Cameras, Star Trackers and Laser Communications.\nThe position reports to the VP of Product Design and is part of the Engineering department. This role is onsite and based in San Diego, CA. Relocation assistance may be provided to qualified candidates.\nIn this role, the essential functions are:\nDesigning and testing complex, high speed, FPGA (mostly Xilinx) designs implementing high-throughput algorithms.\nDesigning and testing embedded applications using the Xilinx Zynq family.\nDeveloping architectures compatible with embedded Linux environments.\nDesigning and supporting top-level system simulations.\nTranslating system requirements into FPGA architectures.\nImplementing and documenting FPGA designs using HDL (VHDL, System Verilog, etc.).\nSupporting systems integration and Test Engineering to produce functional designs.\nImplementing and contributing to the architecture of current and next generation multi-megapixel camera systems, interfacing with the Camera Link and SpaceWire standards.\nDesigning systems capable of handling Imager data and Image processing (Embedded Camera Development).\nCreating test plans to assure integrated performance meets specification.\nIf your experience aligns with our basic qualifications and you are inspired by our mission, we’d like to connect. If you don’t see the right role right now,Join Our Talent Community and stay connected as we continue to build what’s next. \nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering\n5+ years of experience with firmware design, integration, & test (preferably with the Xilinx family)\nExperience with implementing and documenting FPGA designs using HDL (VHDL, System Verilog, etc.).\nExperience with lab equipment\nExperience drafting comprehensive technical documentation\nCapable of multi-tasking; working on multiple projects & supporting production activities\nStrong technical background; capable of coming up-to-speed quickly on new technologies.\nGood communication, with the ability to work both individually and collaboratively in a team environment.\nAble to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance\nThe good faith base salary range for this role is $125,000 - $185,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive.
