We’re a company of doers, thinkers and builders, united by purpose and grounded in reality. \nIf you want to put your skills to work where the stakes are real and the mission is bigger than any one person,forge the future with Voyager. \nThe Principal Electrical Engineer for space technology is responsible for designing, testing, integrating, and operating spaceflight avionics and electrical hardware while providing technical leadership to other electrical engineers.\nThe position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering and is part of the Engineering team based inHouston, TX.\nIn this role, the essential functions are:\nDesign & develop space-qualified electronics - including power systems, command and data handling, flight computers, sensors, and digital/analog circuits - encompassing full PCB design from schematic to fabrication files.\nAuthor and maintain technical documentation including assembly instructions, test procedures, interface requirements, and test and analysis reports.\nConduct electrical testing and troubleshooting using standard test and measurement equipment; perform and oversee qualification and acceptance testing on safety-critical flight hardware.\nReview payload designs and provide feedback to ensure compatibility and compliance with Voyager Space Exploration and NASA requirements.\nSupport program execution by contributing to proposal efforts, documenting technical approaches, and delivering regular status updates to Engineering and Program/Project management.\nMaintain traceability controls for electrical components, systems, lab tools, and test equipment throughout the development lifecycle.\nIf your experience aligns with our basic qualifications and you are inspired by our mission, we’d like to connect. If you don’t see the right role right now,Join Our Talent Communityand stay connected as we continue to build what’s next. \nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field required\nMaster’s degree preferred\nExperience:\n10+ years of experience in electrical design and development\nProven track record in designing, testing, and integrating electrical systems for space applications\nExperience with PCB design including schematic layout, routing, symbol and footprint creation, and generation of fabrication files\nProficiency with test equipment: digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and associated measurement tools\nExperience leading technical reviews and presenting to internal and external stakeholders\nExperience providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and team members\nAbility to support proposal efforts and contribute to cost and schedule estimates\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExtensive experience in the Space Hardware industry preferred\nTravel, Physical and/or Government Mandated Requirements:\nTravel up to 30%, including the possibility of overnights, both foreign and domestic, to launch sites, customer facilities, and NASA/Government centers\nAbility to lift, move or carry items or equipment up to 10 pounds\nVoyager offers a highly competitive total compensation package designed to support the well-being, growth, and success of our employees.
