This role can also be based in Reno, NV or Remote.\nIn this role, the essential functions are:\nServes as the site technical authority for systems engineering across multiple programs, establishing and enforcing organizational standards, processes, and best practices to ensure mission and contractual compliance at the highest level\nDefine and govern the site requirements management strategy across programs; establish traceability frameworks, verification standards, and MDA compliance policies that set the baseline for all program tiers\nDefine overarching system architecture strategy and govern verification and validation frameworks; provide authoritative direction on functional allocations, interface standards, and compliance reporting methodologies adopted across all programs\nProvide cross-domain systems engineering leadership, establishing technical integration protocols with propulsion, software, hardware, GNC, and test disciplines to guarantee coherent multi-program performance and verification closure\nOwn the site risk management strategy; develop and institutionalize risk identification, mitigation, and escalation frameworks that span multiple programs and inform executive-level risk posture decisions\nOwn and govern the technical baseline across programs; lead formal reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and help to establish organizational standards for change control and configuration management\nProvide authoritative MBSE leadership - guide SysML modeling standards, integration with requirements databases, and digital engineering toolchain alignment\nServe as the technical liaison with customer and supplier organizations on requirements flowdown, verification progress, and technical issue resolution\nMentor junior and mid-level systems engineers, fostering knowledge transfer and process maturity within the organization\nIf your experience aligns with our basic qualifications and you are inspired by our mission, we’d like to connect. If you don’t see the right role right now, Join Our Talent Community and stay connected as we continue to build what’s next.\n\nBachelor’s Degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or related STEM field with 15 years of experience in systems engineering or related discipline OR Master’s Degree in related STEM field with 13 years of experience OR 19 years of experience in systems engineering or related discipline in lieu of a degree OR High School Diploma or Equivalent\nDeep familiarity with MDA processes, CDRL development, and systems engineering lifecycle standards\nExpert-level proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)\nAuthoritative knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle standards (INCOSE SE Handbook, MIL-STD-499)\nSignificant experience applying MBSE principles using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw)\nProficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project\nPreferred Qualifications:\nWorking knowledge of DoDAF/UAF architecture frameworks and digital engineering environments\nDemonstrated experience leading Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) analyses at the enterprise and program level\nTravel, Physical and/or Government Mandated Requirements:\nTravel up to 10-15%, including the possibility of overnights to support customer reviews and test events\nU.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract eligibility\nMust have or be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance\nMust comply with ITAR regulations\nThe good faith base salary range for this role is $161,000 - $279,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive.
