This served as a foundation to expand into strain gauge instrumentation, load cells, transducers, weighing modules and complete systems for process control and on-board vehicle weighing.\nVPG has facilities and operations in 13 countries, with more than 30 sites and over 2700 colleagues across the globe we recognise it is our talented people that are key in ensuring we successfully achieve our business aims.\nWe have a vacancy for an Applications Engineer to play a key role in ensuring we can meet customer requirements balanced alongside producing high quality and reliable products.\nHere at VPG we recognise the value of having a diverse workforce and welcome all candidates, however we are unable to offer Visa sponsorship for this role at present.\nThe role:\nThe successful candidate will act as the technical interface between Sales, Customers, Manufacturing and R&D, supporting the specification, development, assembly, inspection, testing and deployment of On Board Weighing Solutions and related products globally.\nKey Responsibilities:\n Application engineering and customer requirements support. \nPreparation of specifications, BOMs, drawings and technical documentation. \nGlobal technical support for customers, distributors and internal teams. \nHand assembly and rework of PCBAs and prototype systems. \nBox-build assembly, wiring and integration activities. \nDevelopment and maintenance of engineering test equipment and test rigs. \nSupport laboratory, vehicle and customer-site testing. \nFault finding, troubleshooting and product verification. \nFirst Article Inspection (FAI) and sample inspection activities. \n100% inspection of prototype, sample and first article hardware where required. \nSupport new product introduction and engineering change implementation\nRequirements\nThe ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and experience:\n ONC/HNC in a relevant engineering discipline. \n Experience in engineering, manufacturing or product development. \nGood electrical and mechanical aptitude. \nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams. \nSoldering and electronic assembly skills. \nExperienced in use of electronic test equipment including multimeters and oscilloscopes. \nPractical fault-finding and root cause investigation skills. \nBenefits\nUpon joining VPG, you become part of an amazing global community.
