Improves the business unit’s understanding and use of analytics and improves the efficiency for how analytics are performed.Provide direction to the team on a daily basis\nCollaborate with leadership to monitor and communicate key performance indicators and to understand the reasons behind the performance\nActively analyze trends to find business opportunities and risks in order to optimize business outcomes\nCollaborate with the Enterprise Analytics team to ensure the business analytics team’s processes and practices align with Enterprise standards and the Enterprise Analytics Strategy\nGuide the appropriate use of analytical concepts and statistical techniques: creation of hypotheses, test/experiment design, data analysis, summarization of findings, and delivery of actionable recommendations for business units\nProvide end users with accurate, actionable and insightful information\nIdentify opportunities to generate and collect new data to improve insights\nLeverage experience in data querying to ensure integrity and quality of the team’s work\nGuide the creation of effective data visualizations to tell a story - expose patterns, trends, opportunities and risks\nChampion effective data governance within the business unit to improve data integrity, quality and understanding\nDrive transformational change and analytics aptitude among leaders and users within the business unit to empower a more informed and effective business\nApply knowledge of data modeling techniques to enable self-service analytics and to balance the scope of the models against response times\nEngage in planning to meet daily, quarterly, operational goals; plan and execute department level projects\nDetermine and develop best practices in relation to business procedures\nAssure effective communications are maintained within and beyond the team; where appropriate involve senior level management and employees in plans, and advise on progress towards meeting goals\nJob Specifications\nTypically has the following skills or abilities:\nBachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience\nMinimum of 3 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of direct reports\nExcellent leadership and visionary abilities\nEnsures the appropriate use of descriptive statistical techniques to solve business problems\nApproaches business challenges with creativity and an understanding of data to design analytical approaches that answer core business questions.\nPreferably able to understand the use of predictive modeling and machine learning and to identify business problems where those can be applied\nRegularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties\nFor roles that are remote (i.e., Work From Home (WFH)) or hybrid (i.e., partial onsite at a VSP location and WFH), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment.\nCompensationrange for the role is listed below.
