You’ll work across the application stack - from scalable backend services and APIs to modern web applications and cloud-native infrastructure - delivering enterprise-grade software used in real-world healthcare environments.\nWe’re looking for an engineer who is equally comfortable designing distributed systems, building intuitive user experiences, and leveraging modern AI-assisted development workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.\nOur platform combines high-performance medical imaging, modern web technologies, microservices architecture, and cloud-native infrastructure to solve meaningful problems in healthcare and diagnostics.\nThe ideal candidate has strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js/Deno, PostgreSQL, modern frontend development (Vue preferred), automated testing, and service-oriented architectures - along with a passion for building high-quality software and continuously improving engineering practices.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy scalable services and applications across the platform stack\nBuild and maintain modern APIs, microservices, and web applications using TypeScript and Vue\nCollaborate within a high-performing Agile/Scrum team to define, estimate, and deliver impactful features\nPartner with engineering teams across Proscia to ensure interoperability, platform consistency, and shared architectural direction\nContribute to frontend architecture and user experience improvements for complex, data-intensive applications\nAdopt an AI-first mindset by integrating modern intelligent tools into your engineering workflows for system navigation, configuration validation, and complex troubleshooting. We expect our engineers to already be leveraging these technologies as a core part of their professional practice.\nDemonstrated experience developing with large language models, agentic pipelines, or AI agents, along with a proven track record of applying advanced AI-assisted development techniques to solve sophisticated technical challenges.\nFluency in prompt engineering, tool-use patterns, and the evaluation of AI systems, including the ability to identify necessary guardrails and ensure the reliability of AI-generated technical outputs.\nParticipate in architectural design discussions and help drive best practices for scalability, observability, maintainability, and performance\nImprove developer productivity through automation, testing, CI/CD, and platform tooling\nContinuously evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices to improve the platform\nRequired Experience\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade applications\nStrong experience with TypeScript and Node.js/Deno in enterprise application environments\nExperience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and service-oriented applications\nExperience developing modern web applications using Vue.js or comparable frontend frameworks such as React or Angular\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and API-driven architectures\nExperience working with PostgreSQL in production environments, including ORM usage and direct SQL optimization\nStrong automated testing experience using frameworks such as Vitest and Playwright\nExperience building and deploying cloud-native applications in AWS or Azure\nPrior experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices\nFamiliarity with Git-based workflows and Agile/Scrum development methodologies\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills\nPassion for delivering high-quality, maintainable, and observable software systems\nDesirable Experience\nExperience designing and scaling distributed systems in production environments\nPractical experience with microservices architecture and understanding associated trade-offs\nExperience building highly interactive or data-intensive frontend applications\nFamiliarity with medical imaging, healthcare software, or regulated environments\nExperience working with large-file or high-throughput systems such as image processing or streaming platforms\nUnderstanding of event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS\nExperience with caching strategies, load balancing, API gateways, and performance optimization techniques\nKnowledge of database optimization strategies including indexing, partitioning, and connection pooling\nExperience with observability and monitoring tools for logs, metrics, and distributed tracing\nFamiliarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation\nExperience participating in architectural reviews and translating technical designs into implementation plans\nExperience mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering culture and standards\nBeyond Just Work\nAs a company in healthcare, we want our people to be happy and healthy, in and out of the office.
