Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role models engineering excellence by writing clean, resilient code, pioneering AI-driven development workflows, and establishing a highly predictable delivery cadence. As a technical role model and mentor to mid-level and junior engineers, the Senior Software Engineer ensures the team consistently meets its commitments while systematically upgrading the long-term health of the codebase. The value delivered directly impacts platform stability, technical innovation, and team velocity, advancing the organization's mission through robust technical execution.\nKey Responsibilities:\nArchitect and implement high-priority, complex full-stack product features from end to end, ensuring they are built for long-term scalability.\nExecute the modernization roadmap by safely rewriting and decoupling legacy monolithic code components into modern architectural patterns while maintaining seamless production stability.\nLead the adoption and mastery of AI-assisted engineering tools, such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Claude Code, to accelerate personal coding velocity and establish automated development workflows.\nSecure excellent codebase quality, reliability, and security ratings by ensuring all authored code seamlessly passes defined quality gates with zero deferred technical debt.\nProvide rigorous, constructive, and timely code reviews, targeting a four-hour pick-up time and a two-hour completion time during standard business hours.\nDrive team sprint predictability by providing accurate technical scoping and estimation to support a team sprint completion rate of 80 percent or greater and a rollover rate below 20 percent.\nConduct advanced troubleshooting to optimize platform performance and diagnose complex system behaviors, contributing to an overall team uptime goal of 99.98 percent.\nFacilitate twelve technical knowledge sharing or training sessions annually for the technology team, focusing on advanced refactoring strategies, AI prompt engineering, and modern full-stack PHP and Vue.js patterns.\nRequirements:\nExtensive experience in software engineering and architecture, with deep expertise in PHP, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and modern framework adoption.\nStrong front-end engineering capabilities utilizing Vue.js, Angular, or React to drive user interface architecture decisions.\nProven track record designing RESTful APIs, establishing integration standards, and building reusable service patterns.\nAdvanced database engineering experience with MySQL, including advanced SQL optimization and data governance strategies for performance and scalability.\nDeep understanding of DevOps and quality engineering, including setting organization-wide unit and integration testing frameworks and managing CI/CD pipelines.\nDemonstrated mastery of AI-enhanced development tools like GitHub Copilot, Tabnine, or CodeWhisperer to optimize personal coding cycle times by 20 to 30 percent.\nExperience mentoring, coaching, and developing technical talent, providing actionable feedback to level up mid-level and junior engineers.\nExceptional ownership and accountability, with the ability to self-direct high-priority projects and translate broad organizational goals into precise technical execution.\nSkills and Knowledge:\nStrategic analysis of technical trends to identify future architectural opportunities and align engineering workflows with long-term product vision.\nExperience defining cloud architecture strategy and infrastructure standards across AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.\nStrong capabilities in organization and planning, with a focus on prioritizing high-impact technical initiatives and managing delivery timelines efficiently.\nExcellent change leadership skills, with a proven ability to champion new methodologies, tools, and engineering best practices across a development organization.\nAccommodations:\nHarbor Compliance is committed to providing any reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities within our application and interview process.
