You’ll participate in the evolution of our backend data platform and related services, with the aim of extracting and consolidating disparate data sources, applying algorithms to large datasets and making them available to both internal and external clients.\nAs a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of front-end and back-end capabilities, working from project requirements and technical designs. You will support system performance, reliability, and high availability by troubleshooting issues, maintaining features, and applying strong analytical and debugging skills while continuing to grow your technical expertise.\nYour mission is to\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance backend services, data pipelines, APIs and user-facing application features within agreed scope and technical guidance.\nWrite clean, maintainable, secure, and well-tested code that follows team standards and engineering best practices.\nContribute to technical design discussions by asking clarifying questions, identifying implementation considerations, and providing input on proposed solutions.\nInvestigate and debug issues in development and production systems using logs, metrics, and debugging tools, escalating risks or complex problems appropriately.\nSupport system reliability and performance by contributing to monitoring, testing, deployment, and operational improvements.\nCollaborate with product managers, engineers, analysts, and data scientists to clarify requirements and deliver reliable product capabilities.\nParticipate in code reviews by providing constructive feedback and responding thoughtfully to review comments on your own work.\nCreate and maintain clear technical documentation for features, operational processes, and implementation decisions where appropriate.\nYou could be a match if you have\nExperience using Python to build data processing, transformation, or integration workflows.\nUnderstanding of data integration and ETL principles, including batch, asynchronous, or streaming data processing.\nExperience working with SQL and relational databases.\nFamiliarity with developing, integrating, or maintaining APIs and backend services.\nUnderstanding of modern software development practices, including Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.\nAbility to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in line with established engineering practices.\nBasic understanding of containerisation technologies, such as Docker.\nAbility to investigate technical problems, communicate blockers, and contribute to the reliable operation of production systems.\nCuriosity and willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and business domains.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, analytics, and data science.\nFluent written and spoken English.\nDesirable:\nFamiliarity with at least one additional backend language or technology, such as Node.js, Scala, Java, or another JVM-based language.\nExposure to developing front-end applications using a modern framework, preferably Vue.js, with TypeScript or JavaScript.\nExperience with AWS or another major cloud provider.\nFamiliarity with Kafka or another message-broker or event-streaming technology.\nExposure to Elasticsearch or another search and indexing technology.\nWe are a dynamic company dedicated to nurturing connections and innovating solutions to tackle market challenges head-on.
