We are seeking a dedicated Plant Controller to join our dynamic and growing team as we scale our operations.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Plant Controller will own site-level financial leadership at our commercial manufacturing facility in Benson, NC. This role is the financial backbone of plant operations - partnering daily with finance and operations leadership while reporting into the corporate finance organization.\nThis is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment. You'll build cost accounting infrastructure, stand up controls, and drive financial discipline in a facility that will scale rapidly. You will play a key role in ensuring the company’s financial health as we expand our domestic manufacturing capabilities and support critical industries with innovative rare-earth permanent magnet technology.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOwn daily and monthly plant financial results and KPIs, including reporting to plant and corporate leadership.\nServe as the site finance lead for ERP and MES initiatives, including data integrity between production systems and the general ledger.\nCollaborate with FP&A to oversee all aspects of inventory costing and management ensuring accurate financial reporting.\nPartner with operations and manufacturing engineering to translate MES/shop-floor data into accurate costing, yield, and other reporting.\nManage plant-level fixed asset accounting and reporting.\nOwn the site-level month-end close, including inventory, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany activity, on a corporate close calendar.\nDesign, document, and operate site-level internal controls over inventory, costing, fixed assets, and procurement; support SOX-readiness and external audit requests.\nBuild and develop a site finance/cost accounting team as the plant scales.\nResponsibilities and tasks outlined are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the business.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.\n7-10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including significant time in a plant controller, cost accounting manager, or similar site-level manufacturing finance role.\nDeep experience in manufacturing, industrial or technology environments.\nExperience in a high-growth or scaling enterprise - comfort building processes, not just running them.\nStrong US GAAP knowledge in areas relevant to manufacturing and fixed assets (ASC 330 Inventory, ASC 360 Fixed Assets).\nExcellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.\nProven leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.\nExperience with government contracting is a plus.\nMust be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3185,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":10,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Natural Resources","Rare Earth Metals","Supply Chain"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T01:19:12Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":71,"reasons":["conf:4","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-25T05:45:01Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/vulcan-elements-plant-controller","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/vulcan-elements-plant-controller.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-26T02:49:27Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2970,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2030,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-09-27T00:00:00Z"}}}
