This role requires a strong understanding of heavy haul operations, including securement, permitting, and route planning. Ability to operate haul trucks and other construction equipment to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, and/or operate a lowboy trailer for transporting equipment in a safe and efficient manner.\nEssential Functions\nOperate lowbed trucks and trailers to transport heavy equipment and oversized loads to various job sites.\nSafely load and unload equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement according to established procedures and regulations.\nConduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.\nProven knowledge of heavy haul securement techniques and regulations.\nFamiliarity with permitting requirements for oversized and overweight loads.\nAbility to read and interpret maps, GPS, and route instructions.\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nTake an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others at all times in accordance with Vulcan standards while operating equipment in and out of the plant.\nMonitor your surroundings when operating equipment in and out of the plant and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required to ensure safety to your supervisor or manager.\nCritical Competencies\nCommunication - Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, while actively listening and adapting the message to the audience.\nTeam Player - Works cooperatively and effectively with team members to achieve shared goals, willingly assisting others and fostering a positive and productive team environment.\nSafety Awareness - Ability to recognize, understand, and adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the workplace; proactive in identifying potential hazards, taking steps to mitigate risks, and ensuring that both personal and collective safety are maintained in all tasks and environments.\nPersonal Accountability - Honoring your commitments to yourself and others. experience operating heavy construction equipment is preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nMust possess and maintain a valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements with clean driving record.\nKnowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.\nExperience with DOT rules and regulations for transporting heavy equipment is preferred.\nMaintain accurate logbooks, mileage reports, and other required documentation.\nCommunicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other team members regarding schedules, deliveries, and potential issues.\nTake an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.\nOther Requirements\nMust be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.\nMust be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.\nAdhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS).\nPhysical ability to perform manual labor associated with
