Relocation required upon successful completion of this training program.\nEssential Functions\nTake an active role in prioritizing safety in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards throughout the plant for yourself and others at all times.\nBecome Familiar with Tools and Equipment. Learn the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of the Electrician’s trade, including how to operate and store all equipment. Learn the occupational hazards of the Electrician’s trade.\nAssist co-workers in the service, repair, calibration, regulation, fine-tuning, and testing of machines, devices, electrical systems, conductors, and associated equipment at aggregate, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, ship, and rail unloading systems.\nAssist co-workers in stringing overhead and underground lines and cables and in installing conduit and wire.\nLearn how to read and draw simple electrical sketches. Work with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine safe and effective installation procedures.\nDetect and diagnose all electrical wiring, appliances, fixtures, machinery problems, failing components, and malfunctions while making corrections and striving to improve equipment reliability.\nAdditional Responsibilities. Motor control is preferred (NEC, NESC, & MSHA).\nOther Requirements\nMust be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
