Responsible for the overall safe and efficient production and/or delivery of ready mix concrete while maintaining a high degree of product quality and customer satisfaction at an assigned facility.\nEssential Functions\nBatch concrete according to specification of tickets and load trucks\nCoordinate with dispatch for efficient delivery of concrete\nOversee general appearance and security of grounds, buildings, equipment and machinery\nEnsure preventative maintenance is performed on all plant equipment\nReview driver’s daily vehicle reports and coordinate any repairs with Fleet Maintenance\nOrder raw materials and operating supplies\nMaintain inventories and monitor plant operating costs; prepare daily reports\nParticipate in training, evaluation, progressive discipline and discharge of personnel\nConduct safety meetings and plant safety and/or environmental inspections\nResponsible for ensuring environmental and safety policy compliance of all activities at the facility, including outside contractors, and to immediately take appropriate steps to correct conditions of non-compliance.\nConduct daily quality control sampling of aggregate properties; record results appropriately\nPerforms other tasks as assigned by supervisor\nComplies with all and ensures compliance of all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies, procedures and requirements\nOther responsibilities:\nOperate front end loader to feed ready mix plant and move material\nDrive ready mix concrete truck to deliver concrete or transport vehicles\nAssist in maintenance and upkeep of yard, plant and office\nCritical Competencies\nCustomer Focus -Builds positive customer relationships and gains trust and respect, prioritizing their needs and using feedback to improve products and services.\nLeadership Skills: Acts decisively and works together to accomplish objectives, vision, mission and values of Vulcan. Associates degree preferred.\nExperience\nThree (3) years working in the production of ready mixed concrete preferred.\nPrevious ready mix batching experience preferred.\nPrevious experience driving ready mix trucks preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nMust have sufficient level of education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and vehicles.\nMust have the ability to maintain satisfactory customer and public relations in performance of duties.\nMust be able to obtain DOT batch plant operator certification.\nKnowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations (OSHA).\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Oracle Business Environment and other software packages relevant to the position.\nFlexible to work long hours and travel when needed.\nOther Requirements\nThis position requires knowledge and awareness of site hazards.\nPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required where appropriate.\nPosition requires ability to work at multiple sites and varying start times dependent on business needs.\nSome overtime and weekend work required.\nRequires use of telephone, computers, cell phones and other electronic devices.\nMust have the ability to lift 50 pounds and to stand and walk for long periods of time.\nAbility to work in a stressful, deadline oriented environment that requires complex,
