The Procurement Specialist role has an emphasis on supplier registration activities among other duties within the procurement department of the company. They collaborate with Safety and Risk to ensure supplier compliance and direct suppliers to leverage the self-service registration tools available. They support the Division Procurement Sourcing teams with direct responsibility for one or more divisions at any given time. They may also be involved in vendor management and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and knowledge of sourcing strategies are helpful for this role.\nEssential Functions\nSupport Operations, POST Managers and Senior Buyers.\nEncourage performance improvement of standard work practices among co-workers and suppliers to minimize errors and rework Track the flow of requisitions, purchase orders, receipts, vouchers and payment to ensure that choke points are identified and resolved.\nCollaborate closely with Payment Services to support day-to-day operations of the invoice to payment processing through procurement framework. Integrating quantitative and qualitative information to make better business decisions and draw accurate conclusions.\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or equivalency required.\nExperience\n1-3 years in a similar role or with equivalent experience in a related job discipline.\nExperience with all aspects of payable procedures, procurement processes and full cycle accounting practices preferred.\nLarge ERP AP system experience (preferably Oracle) would be a plus.\nExperience leveraging procure-to-pay software solutions (preferably Oracle).\nExperience applying catalog and purchasing automation solutions (preferably Oracle).\nExperience at identifying and capturing cost savings and process improvement opportunity\nExperience in Root Cause problem solving or Continuous Improvement methodology.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nKnowledge of vendor payments with the ability to analyze and resolve complex accounts payable problems.\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills.\nGood communication skills (both verbal and written).\nStrong interpersonal and client service skills are essential.\nGood planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.\nContinuous Improvement orientation.\nOther Requirements\nSitting for long periods of time.\nTravel to meet with Vendors or to Corporate as required.
