This role involves hands-on engineering and oversight from concept through construction while maintaining effective communication with plant operators to VP’s.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n·Equipment Design and Modification:\nDesign, develop, and modify mechanical systems and components for aggregate processing plants, including crushers, screens, conveyors, washing equipment, and stockpiling systems.\nCreate and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.\nSelect appropriate materials and components for optimal performance and longevity in abrasive and high-wear environments.\n·Installation and Commissioning:\nOversee the installation and commissioning of new and upgraded mechanical equipment and systems.\nEnsure installations meet design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.\n·Maintenance and Reliability:\nDevelop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.\nTroubleshoot equipment failures, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.\nAnalyze equipment performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.\nManage and schedule maintenance activities, coordinating with maintenance teams and external contractors.\n· Project Management:\nManage capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects related to mechanical upgrades, new installations, and plant improvements.\nDevelop project scopes, budgets, and timelines, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.\nLiaise with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.\n·Operational Support:\nProvide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance personnel.\nOptimize plant layout and process flow for improved efficiency and material handling.\nInvestigate and resolve operational issues related to mechanical equipment.\n· Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance:\nEnsure all mechanical designs, operations, and maintenance activities comply with relevant health, safety (e.g., MSHA regulations), and environmental standards.\nConduct risk assessments and implement safety improvement initiatives.\nPromote a strong safety culture within the workplace.\n·Continuous Improvement:\nIdentify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains related to mechanical systems.\nStay updated with new technologies, industry best practices, and advancements in aggregate processing equipment.\nDevelop and test alternative designs and processing methods.\n·Documentation and Reporting:\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including equipment records, maintenance logs, project reports, and technical drawings.\nPrepare reports on equipment performance, project status, and maintenance activities.\n EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering or similar\nExperience: Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, including heavy industrial and mining projects is preferred\n Licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required; valid driver’s license\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in engineering software (spreadsheets, word processing, and AutoCAD); familiarity with mining operations; ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail; excellent communication and collaboration skills.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nProficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.\nAbility to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.\nDemonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and team coordination.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues.\nExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nWHY JOIN US?\nLead high-impact projects across the Carolina's.\nCollaborate with a dynamic, supportive, and creative team\nCompetitive salary and benefits\nOpportunities for professional growth and leadership in a company that values its employees and communities\nUNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS\nMay be required to lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
