The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of water to designated sites, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.\nEssential Functions\nOperate a single rear axle water truck safely and efficiently.\nTransport and distribute water to construction sites, roads, and other designated areas for dust control, compaction, and other project needs.\nConduct basic maintenance checks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and lights, and report any mechanical issues promptly.\nAdhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies within and outside of location (if necessary).\nMaintain accurate logs of water usage, mileage, and service records.\nCommunicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and site personnel.\nKeep the truck clean and organized.\nAssist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.\nCritical Competencies\nCommunication Skills: Communicates clearly and listens carefully in an open, candid and consistent manner.\nSafety-Oriented: Sets a safety tone for all activities; upholds the highest standards for protecting people and the environment.\nPersonal Accountability: Honoring your commitments to yourself and others. Collaborates with others to address issues that arise.\nStrong Work Ethic: Uses time efficiently; finds the answers and makes sure the situation is taken care of correctly.\nRespectful: Treats other employees or customers with courtesy, dignity and respect.\nEducation\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nExperience\nPrevious experience operating a water truck or similar heavy equipment.\nValid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExperience with GPS and dispatch systems.\nOSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification.\nExperience in the construction or mining industry.\nKnowledge of water distribution techniques and dust control methods.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nOther Requirements\nPerform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with Vulcan and DOT standards.\nComplete daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation with accuracy.\nMust be able to perform and understand the Department of Transportation regulations, keeping all documentation up to date.\nTake an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others at all times in accordance with Vulcan standards while operating equipment in and out of the plant.\nMonitor your surroundings when operating equipment in and out of the plant and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required to ensure safety to your supervisor or manager.\nMust be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.\nMust be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.\nSalary. The salary is prescribed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
