IT Systems Administrator

VVater is America's Next Water Company, delivering the future of purification through its award-winning Farady Reactor (CES Best of Innovation 2025, World Future Award 2025, Time Best Invention Award 2025), proprietary ALTEP (Advanced Low Tension Electroporation Process), Advanced Dissolved Air Flotation, and Micro & Nano Bubble technologies. Unlike outdated chemical, filter, and membrane systems, VVater's electric-field breakthroughs eliminate PFAS, microplastics, microorganisms, and other contaminants with record retention times, without toxic byproducts or costly consumables.

With over 4.3B gallons treated and validation from global leaders, VVater is scaling into municipal drinking water and wastewater, DPR/IPR, onsite reuse for data centers, commercial buildings, and resorts, residential purification, and consumer health water, delivering a 60% smaller footprint, 40% CapEx savings, 80% OpEx savings, and 40% less energy use.

Job Description:

THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION BASED IN AUSTIN, TEXAS. NO REMOTE OR HYBRID AVAILABILITY FOR THIS POSITION

VVater is looking for a highly skilled, AI-forward technology leader to own and run IT across the company. This is not a traditional sysadmin seat. You will own the full IT backbone (infrastructure, cloud, security, and support), and you will lead VVater's adoption of AI, automation, and internally built tools across every function. You are equally comfortable hardening a network, administering a full Microsoft cloud environment, writing code, and vibe-coding an internal application that saves the company hundreds of hours.

You are the person who keeps everything running flawlessly and makes everyone around you faster. You build, you automate, you secure, and you push VVater to operate at the leading edge of what modern technology and AI make possible. You take a problem that used to require a vendor, a contract, and six weeks, and you solve it yourself in an afternoon.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for a builder who wants to shape how a fast-scaling technology and manufacturing company runs.

Key Responsibilities

AI, Automation & Internal Tooling

• Lead VVater's adoption and integration of AI across the company, embedding modern AI tools into how every team works
• Build internal tools, applications, automations, and AI agents that multiply the output of the entire organization
• Vibe-code working internal applications and workflows when a fast build beats a slow, expensive vendor solution
• Develop and integrate AI solutions into existing systems and business processes
• Stay at the bleeding edge of AI tooling (Claude, Claude Code, Grok, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, and whatever ships next) and bring the best of it into VVater's stack
• Identify manual, repetitive, or broken processes across the company and eliminate them with automation

Software Development & Integration

• Develop and maintain APIs, ensuring seamless integration between systems
• Write and maintain code across modern languages and frameworks (full-stack capability expected)
• Connect and integrate the company's software stack, including CRM, CPQ, ERP, and channel partner tools
• Build dashboards, reporting, and lightweight applications that give the business real-time visibility

Cybersecurity

• Implement and manage security measures to protect VVater's data, systems, and networks
• Respond to security incidents and breaches; conduct regular security assessments and audits
• Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures, and ensure all users comply
• Maintain compliance with security best practices and evolving standards

IT Infrastructure & Cloud

• Own and administer the Microsoft cloud environment: MS365, Azure, Exchange, Teams, Entra, Endpoint, and Intune
• Manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage; perform regular maintenance and backups
• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of all IT equipment across servers, networks, and peripheral devices
• Develop disaster recovery plans and ensure data integrity and system availability
• Manage and maintain Wi-Fi, access control, and camera and surveillance systems for reliable, secure operations

IT Support & Operations

• Provide comprehensive IT support across software, hardware, and network components, including printers, phones, and peripherals
• Conduct regular system audits and generate reports on performance, identifying and implementing improvements
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure effective and efficient service delivery
• Stay current on emerging technologies, evaluate their impact, and recommend adoption

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Proven experience as an IT Manager, Systems Administrator, DevOps engineer, or similar technical leadership role
• Extensive hands-on experience with AI tools and technologies, including building AI-powered tools, automations, or agents (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, or equivalents), and the ability to vibe-code internal applications
• Proven full-stack development experience; strong command of API development and modern coding languages
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and software administration
• Proficiency in administering cloud services (MS365, Azure, Exchange, Teams, Endpoint, Intune)
• Solid grounding in cybersecurity principles and practices
• Experience with CRM, CPQ, and channel partner software
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and lead technical work with minimal oversight
• Broad IT, software, hardware, and technical support capability, able to handle a wide range of responsibilities
• The ability to learn new technologies, software, and hardware systems fast, without hand-holding
