Your network, your rules.\nJob description\nThe System Engineer (IT Support) at VyOSis the first line of IT for our employees. This role covers internal user support: service desk tickets, access requests, user accounts from onboarding to offboarding, and setting up and maintaining macOS and Windows laptops. Our team is fully remote and spread across several countries and time zones, so most of the work happens remotely, in writing, through the IS service desk.\nThe System Engineer resolves most requests on their own and passes complex infrastructure issues to senior IT team members. They keep the knowledge base up to date so users can fix common issues without opening a ticket. They also look for requests that keep coming back and could be automated or prevented. This is a junior-to-middle position, with clear room to grow into broader systems and infrastructure work.\nReports directly to the CIO.\nRequirements\n1-3 years in IT support, service desk or junior system administration.\nHands-on experience supporting both macOS and Windows users.\nExperience with a ticketing system (Jira Service Management preferred).\nExperience managing users and access in cloud services (Atlassian Cloud, Google Workspace, Entra ID or similar).\nExperience writing knowledge base articles or user guides.\nNice to have\nMicrosoft Intune, Apple Business Manager or Windows Autopilot.\nJira Service Management configuration: queues, request types, SLAs and automation rules.\nMicrosoft Defender for Endpoint and Cloudflare Zero Trust.\nAWXor n8n or Zapier.\nExposure to SOC 2 or ISO 27001.\nCertifications such as CompTIA A+, MD-102, Apple Certified Support Professional or Atlassian Certified Associate.\nSkills\nGood working knowledge of macOS and Windows 10/11: setup, troubleshooting, updates and user accounts.\nBasic knowledge of identity and access management: SSO, MFA, groups and roles, least privilege, and creating and removing user accounts.\nAble to administer SaaS platforms such as Atlassian Cloud and Google Workspace.\nBasic knowledge of networking (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi) and endpoint security.\nBasic scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell or Python).\nStrong troubleshooting skills and a structured approach to problems.\nClear written communication: can explain a technical issue to a non-technical colleague in a short message.\nService mindset: owns each request from start to finish and respects users' time.\nAble to work independently in a remote team and manage their own ticket queue.\nGood spoken and written English (B2 or higher).\n\nAbout VyOS\nVyOS is an enterprise-grade network operating system that combines routing, firewall, VPN and core network services in one system with one configuration.
