You own safety, schedule, quality, and trade performance from startup through turnover, and you set the standard for the field leaders around you.\nThis is a role for someone who has built a lot of multifamily and wants a say in how the next one gets built. You’ll weigh in during preconstruction, lead constructability reviews, and build logistics and sequencing plans before the first shovel hits the dirt. Then you’ll carry them through closeout and turnover. You’ll also mentor Superintendents and develop the next generation of field leadership.\nThis position reports to the Project Executive, Project Director, or other assigned supervisor. You’ll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and operational leadership.\nKey Responsibilities\nBuild and promote a jobsite culture of safety, accountability, planning, and continuous improvement, and coach field leaders on safety leadership.\nIdentify and mitigate safety, schedule, quality, logistics, and staffing risks early, and develop recovery and contingency plans when conditions change.\nLead delivery strategy from startup through closeout, including scheduling, sequencing, logistics, workforce planning, and trade coordination across repetitive unit work.\nEnsure quality standards, commissioning requirements, and turnover objectives are met.\nResolve complex constructability and coordination issues, using VDC/BIM processes in the field.\nLead, mentor, and develop Superintendents and other field personnel, and support recruiting, training, and succession planning.\nParticipate in pursuits, interviews, and client presentations, and lead constructability reviews during preconstruction.\nDevelop logistics plans, site utilization plans, and staffing strategies, and support procurement planning for long-lead items.\nBuild strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.\nContribute to company initiatives in safety, training, recruiting, and leadership development.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\n20+ years of construction industry experience, with demonstrated success leading large, complex, or multiple commercial construction projects.\nDeep multifamily experience, with a track record of delivering multifamily projects from startup through turnover.\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and field experience.\nExpert understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, logistics, quality requirements, and safety practices.\nAdvanced ability to interpret plans, specifications, schedules, shop drawings, and project documentation.\nStrong understanding of constructability, site utilization, workforce planning, and trade coordination.\nAdvanced knowledge of VDC/BIM and how to apply it in the field.\nExperience developing and mentoring Superintendents and other field personnel.\nExperience in preconstruction, constructability reviews, logistics planning, and project pursuits.\nExceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management technology platforms.\nOSHA 30-Hour certification required.\n\nBenefits\nA senior seat with real influence on strategy, from preconstruction through turnover, not just execution once the plan is set.\nThe chance to run bigger, more complex multifamily work and to shape the next generation of Superintendents.\nBe based in Pleasanton and lead from the office closest to the work.\n100% employee-owned (ESOP) company with a track record dating back to 1925, so your leadership has a direct stake in the outcome.\nFull benefits package: competitive pay, bonus program, medical/dental/vision insurance, PTO/sick leave, life insurance, 401(k) with match, and a student debt assistance program.\nW.E.
