We are looking for an Application Engineer who will be responsible for the design of engineered heat transfer solutions and offer technical assistance for customized products. You will provide engineering services for all departments and customers, and reports to the Applications Engineering Manager. Our organization values those with strong work initiative, passion for the job and those that have a team centered mindset!\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar field is required. \n3+ years of engineering experience.\nKnowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.\nExperience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma.\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nResponsible for designing custom radiators, oil coolers, and heat exchangers.\nFollow corporate application engineering policy through design, quoting, drafting, and production support.\nConsult with External Customers, Customer Service, and Sales to acquire necessary information to ensure properly designed quality unit.\nRemain updated on current information and requirements from engine manufacturers and suppliers.\nParticipate in required field tests to verify acceptable cooling system design.\nResponsible for scheduling and accounting for all associated travel and expenses.\nAssist sales and other departments with special projects such as field problems and/or cooling complaints.\nProvide technical support and primary engineering coverage for assigned engineering support accounts and sales.\nResponsible for file documentation including design requirements, calculations, drawings and correspondence with customers and others for design verification.\nReview design changes when required and initiate drawing and /or process revision.\nPerform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.\nDomestic and international travel required and could include weekend travel depending on the project.\nPerform related work or job duties as required by supervisor.\nOccasional weekend work may be required to complete a project.\nResponsible for maintaining assigned OEM sales accounts.\nWhat about the physical demands of the job?\nAbility to sit for long periods of time.\nAbility to stand for long periods of time in various environments.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Entry Level:\nRegular and reliable attendance.\nStrong mechanical aptitude required, detail orientated, and strong initiative.\nKnowledgeable of engineer drawings, blueprints and understand complex technical writing.\nMust be detailed orientated and have strong interpersonal skills.\nAbility to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.\nDemonstrate maturity, intelligence, cooperation, and discretion.\nPrepare and maintain a variety of related records, spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Office Products.\nWork effectively with fellow employees and independently.\nExperience with SolidWorks, or similar software.\nDependability under both supervised and unsupervised conditions.\nAbility to pass a pre-employment physical, drug and background test.\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\nRelocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\nThis role is also eligible for a performance bonus.\nMore information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, is available at mywabtecbenefits.com.\nWabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening. The salary rate for this role is currently $68900-98200 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
