You’ll partner with professionals across multiple departments and work alongside other Assemblers, Operators, and Welders.\nAs a member of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions team, you will be responsible for providing services and support to internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure materials, processes and products meet or exceed specifications. This position is based at our Duquesne, PA location and reports directly to the Shop Supervisor.\nHow will you make a difference?\nAs Assembler 1 at Wabtec Components, LLC; Thermal Transfer, you will follow specified work instructions and/or engineering drawings to assemble and test a wide variety of products. You will be responsible for the quality of your work and meeting production standards. You will continually look for ways to improve our production processes and make safety your #1 priority every day.\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nFollow specified work instructions to assemble, test, and package products for shipment.\nReceive and check incoming components into inventory.\nReview supplier components to ensure parts meet drawings and specification checklists.\nIdentify and quarantine non-conforming products.\nUse all company owned methods of operating machinery, i.e., forklifts/trucks, jib cranes, overhead cranes, etc., and must be willing to train and adapt to new systems.\nMaintain time records and job records as described by supervisor.\nPackage finished goods and use departmental shipping software and label software\nParticipate in inventory cycle counting activities.\nEnsure a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.\nAdhere to the Wabtec Code of Conduct.\nMaintain departmental housekeeping (5S) standards.\nParticipate actively in team meetings and group discussions\nActively participate in continuous improvement activities or events as required\nCorrespond with internal personnel and delivery drivers, etc. \nWork Schedule:\nMust be able to work multiple shifts if needed.\nDay Shift: 5:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday thru Thursday\nSecond Shift: 3:30 pm to 2:00 am Monday afternoon thru Friday morning\n What do we want to know about you?\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nBasic computer skills for data entry, viewing, reporting.\nAbility to read and understand and drawings, BOMs and work procedures.\nAbility to operate hand tools such as torque wrenches, hammers, presses; etc.\nAbility to read measuring devices such as pressure gages and timers.\nAbility to operate a hydraulic press.\nFamiliarity with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).\nAbility to respond positively to feedback and implement changes in process and procedures as needed.\nExperience with shipping and receiving material in a manufacturing environment.\nExperience assembling components in a manufacturing environment \nPhysical Demands and Requirements for this position are:\nFrequent standing, walking, handling, reaching outward, lifting 15lbs or less.\nOccasionally sitting, squatting/kneeling, bending, lifting up to 50lbs or more, exposure to cold/heat/humidity, loud noises, and dust or vapors within OSHA limits.\nVision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.\nOperate forklift and overhead crane\nEmployees are always required to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the facility including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs.\nThe Position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.\nEmployees will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\n Wabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable) and fitness for duty test (as applicable).\nThe hourly rate for this role is in the range of $20.00 - $22.00 per hour\nThe actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
