The Graduate Accountant will gain experience working across both entities and will be trained in the use of the company’s ERP systems: Sage (used by Austbreck Pty Ltd) and M1 (used by RMS Pty Ltd), with consolidated budgeting and forecasting reporting performed in OneStream.\nWhere is the position located?\nThis is a full-time, permanent position located in Rydalmere, NSW. The role is 3 days in the office, and the team work from home on Mondays and Fridays.\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nGeneral Accounting Support\nAssist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting for both entities.\nPost and process journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations.\nAssist in fixed asset management and depreciation schedules.\nSupport in reconciling sub-ledgers (e.g., inventory, payroll, prepayments) to the general ledger.\nPrepare accruals, prepayments, and adjusting journals under supervision.\nMaintain accurate financial records and documentation for audit readiness.\nHelp ensure internal controls are followed in line with company policy.\nSupport in the preparation of working papers for end-of-month and end-of-year close.\nAssist in managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes and documentation.\nBudgeting & Forecasting Support\nSupport the Finance Manager in preparing budget templates and compiling departmental inputs.\nParticipate in regular budget review meetings and document financial commentary.\nAssist in developing and maintaining forecasts.\nConduct basic trend and variance analysis on revenue and expense categories.\nHelp gather, organize, and analyze historical financial data to inform future budgets.\nPrepare reports for internal stakeholders.\nAssist in reconciling budget figures with system-generated data using Sage, M1, and OneStream.\nSupport consolidated budgeting and forecasting activities using the OneStream corporate performance management platform.\nHelp ensure data alignment between ERP systems (Sage/M1) and OneStream for actuals and forecasts.\nProject Accounting Assistance (Austbreck)\nAssist in setting up new projects in the Sage ERP system with accurate coding and budget allocations.\nHelp track project costs, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.\nReconcile actual costs of project budgets on a regular basis.\nAssist with job costing and allocation of direct and indirect project expenses.\nSupport the Finance Manager in liaising with project managers to validate cost estimates and accruals.\nHelp prepare documentation required for project billing and milestone claims.\nMaintain accurate records of project financial transactions and supporting documentation.\nCompliance & Audit Support\nAssist with BAS, GST, and PAYG reconciliations.\nSupport audit processes by preparing documentation.\nHelp maintain compliance records and support ATO and ASIC obligations.\nWorking with Shared Services Team\nCollaborate with Shared Services (HR, Payroll, IT, AP/AR) to resolve finance-related queries and ensure data accuracy.\nAssist in coordinating information flow between finance and other support functions.\nHelp resolve transactional discrepancies or documentation issues with Shared Services teams.\nSupport cross-functional finance processes involving Shared Services input.\nReporting & Systems\nAssist in generating reports from Sage (Austbreck) and M1 (RMS) ERP systems.\nEnsure data integrity and alignment between ERP systems and OneStream for financial reporting.\nLearn and comply with internal procedures for using Sage, M1, and OneStream effectively.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nQualifications and Skills\nBachelors degree in Accounting or Finance\nCurrently pursuing or intending to commence CPA or CA qualification\nStrong understanding of basic accounting principles\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel\nInterest in learning Sage, M1, and OneStream (training will be provided)\nStrong attention to detail and willingness to learn\nGood communication and interpersonal skills\nPrevious internship or part-time experience in a finance team (desirable but not essential)\nApplicants must have current working rights in Australia.
