You will contribute to software design, development, testing, debugging, and documentation while working with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.\nWhat You Will Do\nDevelop, modify, test, and debug embedded software in C/C++ based on defined requirements.\nContribute to software design, unit testing, integration, and verification activities.\nAnalyze and resolve routine software problems using established engineering practices.\nParticipate in requirement, design, code, and test reviews.\nIdentify technical issues and risks and communicate them clearly to the team.\nCreate and maintain software engineering documentation and traceability.\nCollaborate with software, systems, hardware, and validation teams.\nFollow established software development, coding, configuration-management, and quality processes.\nSupport investigation and resolution of software defects within the assigned scope.\nContinuously build knowledge of embedded systems, product architecture, and railway applications.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.\n1-3 years of software development experience, in embedded systems.\nGood programming fundamentals in C and/or C++.\nUnderstanding of embedded software concepts, including memory, interrupts, multitasking/concurrency, and hardware/software interfaces.\nBasic knowledge of Linux/Unix or an RTOS.\nFamiliarity with software development lifecycle, debugging, version control, and unit testing.\nGood analytical and problem-solving skills.\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively and learn from experienced engineers and subject-matter experts.\nGood to Have\nExposure to QNX, FreeRTOS, or another RTOS.\nKnowledge of communication interfaces/protocols such as Ethernet/TCP-IP, CAN, UART, SPI, or I²C.\nExposure to device drivers or BSP development.\nPython/Bash or other scripting experience.\nFamiliarity with CI, automated testing, Agile/Scrum, or requirements traceability.\nAwareness of embedded cybersecurity concepts.\nExposure to railway, automotive, industrial, aerospace, or another safety-critical domain.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nYou will progressively demonstrate the ability to:\nDeliver assigned software tasks with appropriate guidance.\nApply established engineering practices to solve routine technical problems.\nIdentify and communicate technical issues and risks.\nLearn the product, technology, and railway domain quickly.\nCollaborate effectively across engineering disciplines.\nTake feedback, continuously improve, and gradually handle more complex assignments.\nWhat could you accomplish in a place that puts People First?\nAt Wabtec, it’s not just about a job - it’s about the impact you make.
