The MCA SW architecture is highly flexible, made up of many modular software, application, and hardware elements. MCA is built on MBSE (Model Based System Engineering) principles for requirements management and test cases with full traceability built into the MBSE model.\nHow will you make a difference?\nThe Engineering Technical Leader - Controls Engineering is responsible for design, development, and testing of control functions spanning across all locomotive subsystems with controls content. This position provides a unique opportunity to interact with all locomotive subsystems with controls content.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nBachelor's degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or relevant experience\n\nExperience in Matlab/Simulink\n\n5+ years relevant engineering experience\n\nAbility and willingness to support hands-on validation in simulation laboratory and on-locomotive\n\nAbility and willingness to travel as required\n\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nDesign Simulink control application architectures which are robust against expected configurability needs, thus limiting the impact through appropriate modularity and abstraction.\n\nDefine control requirements and allocate to applications to meet system-level functional requirements.\n\nPlan individual and sub team work for assigned projects and product features as input to integrated project plans\n\nProvide timely communications on significant issues or developments.\n\nDrive process improvements and simplification initiatives to improve quality and productivity.\n\nReview and refine system-level requirements to understand design intent and reconcile with control system capabilities.\n\nDefine interfaces among control applications within software.\n\nSupport V&V through advancement of MIL and SIL capabilities and processes\n\nPrepare and present technical design decisions and results to internal and external customers as necessary.\n\nEnsure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.\n\nPrepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.\n\nProvide technical support for proposal development.\n\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\nRelocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.\nMore information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, is available at mywabtecbenefits.com.\nWabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening.
