Measure us on added value; we help the business to grow and win… we compete & win.”\nHow will you make a difference?\nThe Lead Engineer will have technical ownership of engine wiring harnesses for internal combustion engines. Responsibilities include component design and design validation, supporting cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing and remanufacturing process optimization, and providing manufacturing and assembly support at Wabtec’s Grove City, PA engine facilities (GRV and GRR). This position is in-person, on-site, located in Grove City, PA.\nThe role requires demonstrated experience in reciprocating engine development with component-level expertise to develop and evaluate designs that satisfy application-specific requirements for durability, performance, reliability, and total life-cycle cost.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution; Master’s degree preferred\n\n2-5 years of experience supporting reciprocating or internal combustion engine development\n\nKnowledge of internal combustion engine component design, with experience in heavy-duty/off-road applications (e.g., locomotive, mining, industrial)\n\nDemonstrated experience executing reliability improvement projects, including root cause analysis and verification/validation of solutions\n\nAbility to develop and execute component validation plans and reliability analyses (including Weibull analysis)\n\nProven ability to deliver results and lead technical efforts in a dynamic, cross-functional environment with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality teams\n\nStrong project management, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills\n\nCustomer-centric mindset with effective team leadership and collaboration skills\n\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nProvide engineering ownership and technical guidance for engine wiring harness design, development, integration and assembly.\n\nEvaluate and disposition non-conforming material (use, repair, or scrap) in a timely manner to minimize manufacturing impact at the Grove City facility\n\nAssist production and field service with troubleshooting electrical issues\n\nProvide technical leadership to cross-functional teams supporting component reliability, cost reduction initiatives (alternate sourcing), and new product introduction\n\nAuthor and manage engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, AutoCAD 2D point-to-point wiring schematics and specifications\n\nInitiate and execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to maintain accurate design documentation\n\nLead component-level DFMEAs and safety analyses\n\nEnsure protection of company intellectual property throughout the product life cycle\n\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\nMore information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, is available at mywabtecbenefits.com.\nRelocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.\nWabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening. The salary rate for this role is currently $71500-98100 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
