Through our people, leadership development, services, technology, and scale, Wabtec delivers better outcomes for global customers by speaking the language of industry.\nWho will you be working with?\nYou will be working with our Methods team to provide quality services to design and implement manufacturing processes that guarantee safety, quality, customer satisfaction and competitiveness. You will interact daily with the line leader, manpower and quality engineers.\nHow will you make a difference?\nAs a member of the manufacturing engineering team at Wabtec Passenger Transit, you will be responsible for:\nDevelop, implement, and document robust and cost-effective manufacturing processes, work instructions, and methods in accordance with product specifications, safety and quality standards, and customer demand.\nLead the design of required tooling and accessories.\nEvaluate design and engineering changes, determine production feasibility, and approve release to manufacturing.\nRecommend and implement improvements in production processes, methods, and controls, using the principles of lean manufacturing.\nProcess Monitoring & AnalysisRegularly inspect production lines, equipment, and workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or quality issues. Use data from production logs, sensors, and operator reports to track performance metrics.\n\nQuality AssuranceWork in partnership with Quality Assurance to check first time test results, scrap rates, and defect trends; recommend and/or lead corrective actions or process changes to improve product quality\n\nEquipment & Tooling SupportAssist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, coordinate and support maintenance schedules, and review tooling designs for wear or inefficiency; may recommend replacements or redesigns\n\n Documentation & ReportingUpdate and maintain manufacturing process documents (Work Instructions, PFMEA, control plans, flowcharts) and prepare reports for management on production performance, costs, and improvements\n\nLean & Continuous ImprovementApply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles to identify waste, reduce cycle times, and improve safety\n\nCross-Functional CollaborationWork with design, quality, and operations teams to ensure product designs are manufacturable and to resolve production issues quickly\n\nTraining & MentoringConduct on-the-job or classroom training for operators and technicians on new processes, safety procedures, or efficiency techniques\n\nCompliance & Safety ChecksEnsure all manufacturing activities follow safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies\n\nCost & Resource AnalysisReview labor, material, and equipment costs; suggest changes to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency\n\nProject SupportAssist in new product launches by setting up production processes, validating tooling, and training teams on new methods\n\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nBachelor of Engineering Technology in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related engineering.\nFive or more years of manufacturing experience preferred.\nDemonstrated mechanical aptitude is preferred.\nStrong lean manufacturing skills.\nDemonstrated ability to lead and inspire others.\nStrong problem-solving and customer service skills.\nPossibility of traveling, when necessary, minimal.\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nStart the day by planning your scheduled meetings, projects and assigned tasks.\nReview internal communication [email, teams] and respond or resolve.\nEarly in the morning, meet with the operations leader and the quality engineer to review daily performance, new issues or problems to be resolved and communicate the progress of pending activities.\nAttend and participate in the daily production meeting.\nDedicate planned time to ensure your projects move forward and complete assigned tasks.\nDedicate a large part of your time to walking, observing and supporting your processes.\nIf necessary, use the company's different systems and applications to document the process, resolve problems or develop improvements.\nArrive on time for your meetings and you will participate proactively, professionally and purposefully.\nSpend time reviewing the key performance indicators of your processes to identify trends, risks or opportunities.\nSend progress reports on your tasks and projects.\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\nWhat about the physical demands of the job?\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.\nThe employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.\nDuring visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.\nAn employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\nWabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world’s toughest challenges. The salary rate for this role is currently $79100-112800 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
