You’ll partner with professionals across multiple departments and work alongside other Assemblers, Operators, and Welders.\nAs a member of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions team, you will be responsible for providing services and support to internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure materials, processes and products meet or exceed specifications. This position is based at our Duquesne, PA location and reports directly to the Shop Supervisor.\n How will you make a difference?\nAs an Operator, you will follow specified work instructions and/or engineering parts drawings to fabricate/assemble a wide variety of products. You will be responsible for the quality of your work, and meeting production standards. You will continually look for ways to improve our production processes and make Safety your #1 priority every day.\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nInterpret fabrication plans and build products according to plans.\nUse all company owned methods of operating machinery, i.e., forklifts/trucks, jib cranes, overhead cranes, etc., and must be willing to train and adapt to new systems.\nMaintain time records and job records as described by supervisor.\nEnsure work area is kept in a neat and orderly manner.\nUse fabrication machinery such as Presses, Rolls, Shears, and other moving machinery.\nUse hand tools such as grinders, sanders, etc.\nMay install insulation on manufactured products.\nPerform other duties as assigned by supervision.\nFollow and adheres to all safety rules and topics. Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.\nWork Schedule:\nMust be able to work multiple shifts if needed.\nDay Shift: 5:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday thru Thursday\nSecond Shift: 3:30 pm to 2:00 am Monday afternoon thru Friday morning\n What do we want to know about you?\nDo you have the following required skills and education?\nMust be a team player.\nMust be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.\nMust possess good interpersonal and communication skills.\nMust be able to read and correctly interpret blueprints.\nMust be able to maintain attendance as defined by the company policy.\nHigh School Diploma or related equivalent required.\nTrade school certificate or related equivalent preferred.\nCombination of education and experience will be considered.\nPhysical Demands and Requirements for this position are:\nHeavy work.\nFrequent standing, walking, handling, reaching outward, lifting 15lbs or less.\nOccasionally sitting, squatting/kneeling, bending, lifting to 50lbs or more, exposure to cold/heat/humidity, loud noises, and dust or vapors within OSHA limits.\nVision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.\nEmployees are always required to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the facility including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs.\nThe position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.\nEmployees will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\n Wabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening.
