The Shipping/Receiving Clerk reports directly to the Production Supervisor. The team ensures compliance with Wabtec’s quality standards, while working efficiently and effectively within a lean environment, and is instrumental in maintaining a level of customer satisfaction.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nMinimum of five (5) years of experience in shipping/receiving role\nInternational shipping experience a plus.\nRequires a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP systems.\nExperience driving a sit down and stand-up forklift\nAbility to work effectively unsupervised.\nStrategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.\nAbility to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.\nBasic math skills\nUtilize software, such as Oracle, and various website-based programs customer (supplier) portals\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nCompares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.\nDetermines method of shipment and contact trucking companies or 3rd party logistics to schedule pickups.\nLoads/Unloads all inbound and outbound trucks along with interaction with freight personnel.\nScan all shipping paperwork.\nAffixes shipping labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information on cartons.\nAssemble containers and package products utilizing the proper packing materials.\nUnpackage and examine incoming shipments for damage/shortage and load information into ERP system. Consult the purchasing department on any necessary resolutions.\nUtilize customer portals, UPS/FedEx portals to ship outbound shipments.\nUtilize the ERP system to process shipments, pick to order, generate BOL’s, packing slips, and invoices.\nUpload proper paperwork to the corporate team to obtain customs paperwork.\nMaintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat about the physical demands of the job?\nEmployee is regularly required to:Hear.\nRead, write, and communicate in English.\nSit 6 hours at a time, with minimal breaks.\nLift and/or move up to 10 pounds independently or up to 25 pounds with assistance.\nVision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.\n\nEmployee is required to wear hearing protection in designated areas.\nThe Position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.Requires daily face-to-face interaction and communication with employees on production line and management.\n\nWork Environment: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.)\nThe employee will normally work in a controlled office environment and occasionally on the production shop floor that does not have controlled temperatures and will vary based on weather conditions. May occasionally be exposed to fumes and minimal to moderate noise.\nSafety shoes and safety glasses required on the shop floor.\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\nThe hourly rate for this role is in the range of $24.00-27.00 per hour\nThe actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
