You will be responsible for driving product sustaining efforts, from concept through implementation, and managing engineering releases.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nDo you have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited)?\nDo you have experience with Oracle or other similar ERP systems?\nAre you proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)?\nAre you able to manage your time effectively?\nDo you have 3+ years’ experience working in an engineering and manufacturing environment?\nDo you have 3+ years’ experience in solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred) and Product Data Management (Solidworks PDM or Windchill preferred)?\nDo you have a strong understanding of: GD&T and tolerancing analysis, materials and manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA principles?\nDo you have a background in lean/continuous improvement environments?\nDo you have a passion for high-performance engineered products?\nDo you have experience in rail, transit, braking systems, or industrial components (preferred)?\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nTake ownership of product lines, driving improvements in performance, cost, and manufacturability\nCoordinate Engineering Drawing Release Notices: Responsible for completing and communicating Engineering drawing/BOM releases\nData Entry: Manage business system changes to support company requirements\nSupport new product development, sustaining efforts, and project management: Coordinate prototype builds by obtaining quotes, managing project timelines, tracking key deliverables, coordinating with outside vendors and internal departments, and overseeing non-production part requests to ensure projects stay organized and on schedule\nContinuously seek improvements in performance, cost, and reliability and implement creative effective solutions.\nTransform concepts into robust engineering solutions using SolidWorks and 2D drafting tools\nEnsure designs meet customer, regulatory, and performance requirements\nDesign and execute engineering validation tests for performance, durability, and compliance\nAnalyze test data and implement design improvements\nResearch and select qualified suppliers to support innovation and product needs\nIncorporate customer and operational feedback into product enhancements\nApply Lean principles to eliminate waste and improve design-to-production flow\nClearly communicate design intent, risks, and progress to stakeholders\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\nThis is not a remote role.\nWabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening. The salary rate for this role is currently $68900-98200 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
